My MRI results....

I was able to call my doctor's office yday (they are open on Saturday's) to get the results back from my MRI. Apparently, I have a horizontal tear of the posterier horn of the medial meniscus. I have to make an appt with an orthopedic surgery and soon. I have no experience with knee injuries and have no idea what to expect. Does anyone have any experience with this? Beth

My husband had a meniscus tear repaired a few years ago. It was done laproscopically as same day surgery. He was sore right after but he said the pain level was so much less than pre-op. He only missed a couple days of work. But then, he's stubborn. Just make sure you follow the surgeon's and physical therapist's instructions and I'm sure you'll have a great recovery. Do your post-op exercises and find a way to elevate your leg when you are sitting. Keep ice packs handy for when you sit too. He did sleep in a recliner for the first couple of nights post-op. It's kinda like post-op for WLS...follow your doctor's orders and you'll be back on your feet in no time.

Beth, Sorry to hear it! I'm sure that is something they can take care of laparoscopically. Chele
