Am I the slowest loser here?

Tomorrow I will be 10 weeks post op and I've only lost 36 lbs. I had a 3 1/2 week stall at 33 lbs. My first goal was to lose 50 lbs by my birthday, but that's this Friday & I haven't even made the 40 lbs mark. Well, maybe I set my goal too high. I posted pictures from today on my profile & I can't really see any difference. I can FEEL the difference, but I'm not seeing anything. Boo Hoo, I'm having a pity party for myself. Kathy

I think alot of things fall into play. I have only lost 33lb.s since surgery. I have lost a total of 62lb.s because I was required to go on a pre-surgery diet. Age, size and health issues play into this as well. I don't think you are the slowest loser. Keep up your chin! Leeanne

Well, I have almost 3 weeks on you and am only down 39lbs. So no, you are not the slowest looser. I've been at this weight for almost 2 weeks now.

Kathy, I can totally tell that you have lost weight. Keep on doing what you are doing. Your body is healing and it might take it a while to get used to your new lifestyle. Rhonda

Kathy, Don't beat yourself up. You're losing and that's what matters. It will all even out in the end. Remember that everyone is different and those who had the most to lose will lose faster. Also age and health factors into the mix. Just keep doing what you're doing and as long as your feeling good, that's what matters. Keep on going!!!! Regards and hugs, Ronna

Kathy, I was about the same when I was at the point you are... I am now over 3 months out... I have lost 50-something pounds so far... I used to get very very frustrated about the whole thing, as I had a month long stall myself. Finally, I realized how much better I felt, I try to focus on that aspect. The fact that I FEEL AMAZING. Our minds will play tricks. I am 99 pounds down from my highest weight, and I look in the mirror and really do not see that much of a difference. Its just the way my mind is perceiving it. Anyway, the rate you are losing is OK, this is going to continue until you are at your goal weight and it won't matter how fast or slow it all happened. Take Care, Mary P.S. I can see a difference in your pictures

You're losing faster than me by a whole .4 of a pound!! Kathy - my surgery was a day after you and I'm right where you are. I was 254 when I went into the operating room and I was 221.4 this morning - 32.6 pounds since surgery. We're basically dead even. I took everyone's suggestion and ate a little more over the weekend and it got the scale moving. Instead of doing 3 1/4 cup meals I ate 5. Sometimes pity parties for ourselves are just what we need I too have set a goal that it doesn't look like I'll make - we are going on vacation next month to NY and DC. I want to wear my size 10 jeans, but I know I have to be 180 to get into them. I doubt seriously 41# in 6 weeks is realistic, but maybe I'll get down to a 12. Just keep your chin up and don't beat yourself up. Some of us (unfortunately) just lose slower than others...

Kathy, Don't beat yourself up. A lot of factors play a roll in the weight lose of individuals. Exercise, Age, Weight going in, metabolism. Hang in there. Carly

Kathy! I can SO tell you've lost weight! I think our brains are so used to telling us we're big and fat, etc that we are blinded by what we look like. When I peek in the mirror, I can't tell anything. A little in my face, like a chin is peeking in, I have a bit of a neck and my eyes are bigger- but body wise, I still see a blob lol. But I feel amazing!!! I am so happy you feel great too! Keep smiling chickadee, you're totally on track!

Godo for you Renee! You're so right...your skin will tighten up better and you may not lose your hair either. The fast weight lost is what gets the hair falling out. It will all even out in the end. Keep up the good work! April
