Everyone Reply Please: Help with supplements
I take Optisource Multivitamins. They are specially made for bariatric patients. I take 4 a day and they are chewable. I also have to take an iron supplement.
You have to take your vitamines or you really are at risk. Forget the bad taste just get them down. The Optisource are not bad they taste like orange.
Good luck.
Emily-- I, too, had a hard time with the calcium--- they all tasted terribled to me: hated Tropical Oasis, Bariatric advantage, some big old horse tabs that I got at a health food store, tried dissolving Citracal in water, etc... I think I'm sensitive to textures. Finally, I can do Citracal creamy bites in the chocolate mint only and my favorite (but still not great) are the new Long's brand chewable calcium citrate. I like them because they are smaller, but still fairly concentrated. They are chalky and overly sweet, but the best I could find. Many people like Upcal D, but I haven't tried that one. Thanks----- Cathy
Hi,
I hope I'm understanding you correctly. I don't like the chewables or liquid, so I found Bariatric Supplement System vitamins/minerals. They are capsules, and not miniscule, but they're great. I still take the Bariatric Advantage B-12, but that's the least of my supplement problems!
Kaiser reccommended this system as one of the options.
Hope this helps!
Susan
