Anyone having trouble with iron or B12 levels?

Had my two month checkup yesterday with my surgeon's office and they told me my weight loss was a little more sluggish than what they'd like to see. They didn't seem too concerned and told me to increase my protein intake with powder, as they don't believe I'm getting enough. I also told them I was still feeling pretty tired. They attributed it to my body still healing...Coincidently, I had an appointment with my PCP this morning and told her how my appointment went yesterday. She ordered bloodwork to see if I'm deficient in B12 or iron (I am taking my supplements). I wondered if this was common with WLS? Any of you going through this? What can you do about it?

Hi Amy - I've got a checkup today and I'll see how I compare to you since we're only 2 days apart. I had my blood test drawn a couple of weeks ago and my PCP said it looked fine, but the surgeon will tell me today if he agrees. I know he already feels my weight loss is not as it should be, but I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do. I'll check back in with you after this appointment to see if maybe I get the same kind of feedback on the blood work...

Hi Amy, My surgeon prescribes a Iron & B12 Supplement that we have to take for life. It is twice a day and works to prevent anemia and other blood disorders. Hope your bloodwork comes out okay. Carly

Hi Amy, I had a blood draw after my 2 month checkup. My B12 level was fine but it did show that my Iron level was very low. I know have to take an iron supplement in addition to the multivitamin. Regards and hugs, Ronna
