Confession is good for the soul
I agree with your attitude. We can't binge and I do like the "three bite rule" that so many have talked about. I think eventually that's a good way to be able to eat and not feel deprived.
The one thing we DO have to be aware of is snacking and constant munching. This way, we'd be able to consume a lot more food (and food that isn't WLS friendly) over a period of time. I don't have this problem...YET and I hope I never do!

Hi Kay,
I agree that you should not beat up on yourself, rather recognize and allow yourself to have a rare and special indulgence. you're an adult in control of your own life!!
My indulgence has been wine. I am regularly at receptions and dinner meetings. Its becoming easier to say NO because wine is not agreeing with me. But I've had a glass here and there. Empty calories. Sugar calories. A buzz that comes and goes quickly leaving me drained. And sometimes it bothers my stomach so I'll stop before I get thru a half glass. (and I would never drive so pls no flaming on that!)

When I sat in on the chat room session with Rhonda Britten she said 2 things that really hit home to me. Someone had asked a question about cheating on food and not wanting to exercise. She said to do this:
When you want to cheat, in your mind say, "I'm going to cheat because I feel like cheating MYSELF today." If that food can justify that comment, then by all means cheat away.
When you don't want to exercise say, "I'm not going to exercise because I don't feel like loving myself today."
I'm not saying I don't slip up on occasion and eat something I shouldn't (yesterday's menu can tell you that). I'm saying that sure it's okay to have something tasty every once in a while but if you are thinking about how bad it is while you are doing it, you shouldn't.
My downfalls have been pizza toppings. Some people see nothing wrong with them, for me personally I do.
