Dry Skin
WOO HOO!! I'm a postin' foooool!
I guess it's early in the morning (eastern standard time) and everyone is still snoozing or getting ready to wake up and face another day or...protein shake or something.
Have you noticed your skin becoming more dry? I have a theory that it has something to do with the fact that we aren't eating as much fats (very little, in fact...at least comparatively speaking). I have been slathering on lotion but I'm thinking it may be easier just to be dipped in oil. (not battered and fried!)

Top of the morning to ya, Postin' Fool.....
Yes, my skin is dry. I went to see my massage therapist/nutritionist last week and she remarked on it and reminded me to get some fat in my diet and how important it is...just a little bit helps. Lotion helps the top layer but some fat helps the lower layers of the skin.

My skin is extreemly dry. It was dry before surgery and now it is awful. A few weeks ago I developed this red mark on my neck, under my chin. It finalkly got so bad I had yo go to the Doctors on Wednesday. Guess what, excema! He gave me cream and I think i can see a difference in it, He even commented on my dry skin. I'll need to add something to my diet, any suggestions?

Hi Chele:
¡Buenos Días!. Well for me it is not a surprise, having read a lot of postings I knew about Dry Skins. I asked my nutritionist about it and she told me that dry skin is caused by lack of GOOD fat and/or lack of zinc. She adviced me to add avocados (1/5 of an avocado is a ration) to my diet, they are good fat and have zinc. I tried it and really worked for me.
But keep an eye on it girls because it is going to prevent the loosing of hair too. Have any one noted that is loosing hair?, it usually starts at month 3 and ends at month 10 after surgery.
Best Regards
Alejandro from Guadalajara Mexico

Well I guess that was the reason my dry skin cleared up then......the avacados that Alejandro mentioned. I don't eat them daily but I do eat them at least 2-3 times per week. My husband and I eat primarily Mexican foods....the real stuff not like what you find at the restaurants here, and so I guess this is a good thing. Also the cause for me losing my gallbladder, but hey I never gave up on them since I knew that they were a healthy fat to begin with.....thanks for posting this Chele, I was really wondering how I managed to overcome this myself
Steph

I could have kicked myself last night as while I was pulling out of Kroger's parking lot, I realized I had forgotten avocados!
Anywho! That's a good point to make!
My personal trainer asked me what type of good fats I was getting in, and I said..."um...none. Avocado once in awhile." Then she mentioned nuts as a good source too, and I told her that I eat those OFTEN.
