I had my surgery through South San Francisco they state to caffeine, sugar, fried foods, bread, rice, noodles......... I usually get once in a while a starbucks decaf-nonfat sugarfree cafe mocha or vanilla lattle but make sure you tell the clerk sugarfree or they will make it with all the sugar....Good luck and enjoy your decaf........ suzan

Cara knows a lot about coffee and caffeine. Hopefully she'll see this. I was cleared to drink decaf at 1 month out. I have had a few cups or regular though. Coffeemate makes a really good SF nondairy creamer. I have french vanilla. I use that and 1 packet of splenda and I am good to go!! Dawn

I drink both regular and decaf....though I have been told decaf only. I believe it's because caffeine can stimulate the appetite and maybe even dehydrate you. Not sure though. For creamers, I use Coffee Mate French Vanilla Sugar Free. Or, just half and half with a variety of sugar free syrups I have on hand. General Foods International Coffees makes a good sugar free Cafe Mocha and Cafe Vienna...I have those too! Chele
