SF Milano Cookies from Pep Farm
Did anyone know that there are sugar free Milano cookies from Pepperidge Farm? I didn't and just saw them yesterday. I can't wait to try some at some point.
I haven't yet started to incorporate that stuff into my diet. I have been virtually sugar free and soda free for almost four months now. The loss is going well. I do, however, feel that at some point I deserve a little something good.....but "something good" for me doesn't mean ice cream or cake or candy or pie. It means something sugar free or little sugar that feels like "cheating". I seriously don't have the desire to cheat....but every once in a while I've had a SF double chocolate pudding.
Do you cheat and if you do, what is your "cheat"?

Well, I incorporate that stuff into my diet. I just figured that I have the rest of my life to eat a certain way and if I totally cut out "treats", then I will feel like I'm being deprived and may be tempted to eat the REAL thing and blow it completely. That, I wouldn't want to do!
I refer to them as "legal treats", but that is just my opinion and how I do things. I don't happen to consider it as "cheating" at all, but others may view it that way, at least for them.
Here are my legal treats:
I drink about 3 Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper cans a week, opened and then let sit out on counter for 2-3 hours or poured in a big glass with TONS of ice (so it melts and most of the carbonation is gone).
I do have the Milano Mint cookies. They are in my special cookie jar (mine is separate from the family!) and have been sitting there for about a month. They're just ok. I have eaten half of one at a time...kinda rich.
My favorite SF cookie is Murray's Pecan Shortbread...delic. I'll have one every few days or so, I guess.
Other things: SF candy, Cool Whip, SF/No Sugar Added/Reduced fat ice cream bars. Other SF ice cream sweetened with Splenda, usually. Note: If I want something sweet, usually 2 SF jelly beans does the trick...that's all it takes.
Cozy Shack No Sugar Added puddings.
Sometimes, the line of whether or not you consider something to be ok to eat and not ok to eat is blurred, at least nutritionally speaking. The values can be similar (cals, fat, sugar grams, protein). I would say the most important thing is whether or not something is a "Trigger Food" for you or not. If you eat something and it triggers you physically or emotionally to crave more, then you should avoid it altogether. That's JMO though, FWIW! So far, I haven't had eaten anything like that and can stop with a serving (or a half, or even a single bite) of something.

The term "cheating" wasn't meant to offend so if that is the case, I do apologize. It's just "my" choice of terminology.
However, good ideas that you gave. I was just curious what everyone is eating. I am proud of the fact that I don't have the desire to have any sugary type foods. I don't even have a desire for SF foods, but every once in a while I do enjoy something like that with my children, etc.
No offense taken!
I hope it didn't seem like I was on a rant.
I can be longwinded at times.
Anyway, just sharing how I do things. Occasionally I do like something "sweet", but compared to how I used to be, it's a drop in the bucket! Also, I'm happy that I can stop with 2 jelly beans and not two handfuls.

I was really surprised, but then maybe it's just me. Mentrally after surgery, everytime I'd go shopping, I'd pick up some sugar free dessert type things...icecream, cookies, candy, you name it. I too, consider it, legal treats. Byall means, everything in moderation, that's what this surgery does, make sure you do things in MODERATION. I too believe though, that it's it not right to deprive yourself. Though binging is no longer an option, why make yourself feel deprived. I personally, don't think of good food/bad food stuff. Some foods are by all means much healthier for you then others, but why create a complex.
The funny thing is, I barely eat any of it, and have given a lot away. I realize now that it's ok if I have peiece, I'm not being deprrived. BUT I would rather have a bowl of cottage cheese instead.
who knew????

Ok, ok........I admit I have had a piece of sf chocolate, made me sick. This weekend I had a few bites of sf pie....made me ill. As far as cookies, cake, candy bars, chips, soda,etc.....I have not added those into my diet. I have been trying to follow my doctors WLS plan to a "T". But thats just me. I think everyone needs to do whats best for them. And whats best for me at this point is to not eat those things. If I snack its on peanut butter. I can eat alittle and feel fine. If I eat more then a teaspoon....it makes me ill also. I think it might be the sugar in it. But I never learn and eat it anyways......lol.
