Hi Rachel,
I will be three years post op next month, am still losing if I cut back on carbs...Just gained 5 trying to maintain by adding carbs, because my weight needs to be stable for PS... Lost about 50 lbs this last year maybe a little more...I can lose 1.5 to 2 lbs a week by cutting carbs eating protein first etc...

At 2 years and 3 months out I finally reached my "personal" goal of 120, and have played with 119-121 since then (that was 7 months ago). I find that if I have my protein drink, eat good lean protein, veggies and fruits, and stay away from sweets, I will maintain at 119-120. If I eat sweets, I go to 121. I will be 3 years out in June, so I think this is it for me. If I want to lose weight, I am pretty sure I can do it by simply eating protein and veggies and getting below 1100 calories a day, so my thought is that the "window" is open for as long as our bodies are comfortable losing and we keep the calories in/calories out below the level of maintenance. HOWEVER, as an old Weigh****cher leader once told me, "BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR". At 119 pounds (5'3" tall) about 1,190 colories is all I can have a day to maintain; any more than that and I will gain. If that is not a problem for you, that's okay. I like to eat about 1200 calories a day, so 120 pounds is more realistic for me and something I can live with. Missy 268/120
