It is hard to believe it's almost a year since surgery. I now think the surgery was the easiest part, and day to day is the hard work.
I started at 351 pounds, over 58 BMI, at 5'5"
now, 196 pounds, BMI 32.6, still obese, but a 155 pound loss.
My goal is 150 pounds, why? because it is a nice "round" number, and I will have lost over 200 pounds. I don't know if I will get that low without plastics, as I have huge amounts of hanging skin. But I keep working at it. I have my checkup in two weeks, and am very interested in what my surgeon will say.

My highest BMI was 56.2. I'm 5'8" and my highest weight was 370.
My pre-surg BMI was 51.6 (340 pounds).
I am now 32.3 which is still considered obese (213 pounds) but my surgeon wants me to stop around 185 - which I'm totally okay with. Technically my BMI would be 28.1 and I would be considered overweight, but for my body structure, it will be fine and I will likely be in a size 12. At 213 I'm in a size 16. So, around 30 pounds to go and I'll be content.

I am 5-1'', starting weight of 216 and a size 20.My starting bmi was 40.9.I currently weigh between 126-129 I go back and forth between these numbers. My current bmi is about 24.5.My goal was to be 130 so you could say I am at my goal.My surgeons goal for me is 116?? I think that maybe too low for my frame.I currently wear a size junior 5 I am pleased but really I am still in shock -Still grab the larger sizes my brain hasnt caught on yet.Its a struggle every day to keep my weight down. Jen,
What a good idea!!!
I started out Jan. 1, 2005 at a BMI of 46.5, 280 pounds.
May 6, 2005 my BMI was 42.9. 258 pounds.
Today my BMI is 24.4 147 pounds.
I am 5'5, and I am right where I want to be, except for some skin issues.
For me it has been quite a trip. The first two months weren't any fun at all. I developed gastritis at about 6 weeks post op, not at all related to my surgery, but miserable none the less. Then everything evened out. No more problems. I followed a good, balanced diet and the weight just fell off. By 7 months, I had gotten to 157--only 8 pounds to a normal BMI. It took me about 2 or 3 months to get that last 8 pounds off. Now for about the last 2 months I have stayed basically at the same weight, bouncing up and down the same 2-4 pounds throughout my cycle. But I have found that now is when the truly hard work comes into play. I can eat anything I want to within reason. So I have to work hard at eating the things that are good for my body.
That said, I'd do it all again if I had to. I feel better and look better than I ever have in my life. I got a new hair cut, a shorter one, one that I would never have worn with a big fat face. I can buy clothes from any store in the world, provided that I have enough money. I can wear anything from a S or even XS sometimes, to a size 2 to a size 8 depending on the cut. And that rocks!
