Did you HYDRATE today?
Hi Lori,
We had a very nice day Saturday in Boise also, though we did get a powerful thunderstorm last night after I got back from my walk.
Well, I did my first long walk day. I walked 4 miles in the am and 4 miles in the pm. That's 42240 ft!!!!! Today (Sunday) will be my short walk day (2 miles) but at a brisk pace. I'm aiming for a total of 10 miles next Saturday. Trying to build my endurance to walk a total of 12 miles in 2 sets of 6 each then I plan on building my speed up. Right now it takes me about 1 1/2 hrs to walk 4 miles, I need to try to get it as close to 1 hour if I can. I also need to work on being able to walk up a mountain at least 3 miles and back. Hope to do that in a few weeks.
Linda "these BOOTS are made for walkin!"
I've been steady with about 90 oz of water each day for the last week. I am constantly pee-ing which I was not doing that much of before my increase.
My new thing is tea....OK, an old thing in disguise. Now I am making it really strong, adding a bunch of lemon juice, refrigerating it and diluting it with more water as I pour glasses. I dont understand why tea is so much easier to drink than plain water but it is.
Best to all...
Tiffany
I do plan on doing everything you suggested. I kept a pair of shorts and t-shirt that I wore preop. I plan on taking pictures with those on. I also have been taking measurements monthly and pictures every 3 months. I will be in Huahine on my surgiversary (5/23) so I won't have my actual weight. I'll weigh on morning of 5/19 though. I was just marveling at the fact that I walked a total of 8 miles last Saturday...that's 42240 ft! A year ago, I could hardly walk from my car to my office. I can't believe how good I feel compared to a year ago. A year ago, I remember reading others profiles and seeing how they have lost most or all of their excess weight I never really thought that I'd be one of them. I won't be at my goal weight but I'm within 16-30 lbs of that. (Still not sure where I want to be but somewhere between 135 and 150).
Anyway, Kathy, I enjoy reading your posts and you do try to keep everyone focused on our respective journeys. I appreciate that. You have done so well and I know that you will break your plateau soon!
Linda
Hi Kathy,
WOW! Can you believe it is coming up on 1 year for us???? Each of us have different days, but we can all celebrate all month long in May!
This year has been such a rollercoaster ride, more so for some than others, but still we each have had our own ups and downs.
I am so thankful that I had this surgery and that I am in a much better place physically and emotionally than I was a year ago!
I hope you and all our Maysters have an awesome month and as you said - celebrate the positive changes and see how far we've come, not how far we still have to go!
Take Care,
Deanna
Great suggestions Kathy. When I started this process, I thought, well, if I could just lose 100 lbs I'd be happy. Then you watch people taking off weight like crazy and now my 142.5 lbs doesn't seem like much! You start getting unrealistic expectations. I'd hoped to be down at least another 20 by now...
But, when I look at where I've come from, the change is truly phenomenal. It is okay.
