I have been released!
And that is a good thing. I went to see my orthopedic surgeon today and he said that I was doing extremely well since my surgery on 4/18. After 3 physical therapy visits, he has made the decision that I can continue that at home on my own. I go back to work tomorrow.
I found out today exactly what all that he did find when he did my surgery last week. Apparently, I did not have 1 meniscus tear, but 2. I had a meniscus tear on the anterior side too. The one on the posterior side was much worse, but both were repaired.
He also found that some of the cartilage behind my knee cap was worn (from the extra weight) and he tried to correct that problem too.
So all of the pain that I was in after the surgery was normal (and I thought I was dying). Actually, the surgeon's assistant said that I was their poster child.
Now I have to get back on track. I can go back to the elliptical and the bike. I will be 3 months out tomorrow and would love to be at -75 lbs. However, I will take the 71 lbs that I have lost.
Hugs, and thanks for all the prayers and support that you've shared.
Love ya,
Beth
