Consequences of a new job....

Okay I left working as the Office Manager for a tanning company to be the Office Manager for a SEAFOOD distribution company. This was such a huge mistake for me personally. All day long, seafood is talked about, smelled, and eaten. They test EVERYTHING that comes in! They also distribute other foods too.... but my God it is so tempting. I thought I could take it, but it's been very very hard. The last I heard my old job had NOT been filled yet. I'm honestly thinking of groveling and asking for my job back. But how do I do that? If you left on good terms it should be ok. Honesty is always the best policy. Tell them that you didn't realize how much you liked your job until you gave it up. Tell them you made a mistake and see if they are interested in you still. JMO Leeanne

Did you leave on bad terms?? If not, I would call your old boss and and ask if you could come in and talk to him/her. It's better to do this face to face. Once you are there express that you moved on because you were hoping to broaden your career path but in doing so you found that you quite possibly made a mistake. Tell them that it took a great deal of humbling on your part to ask for your job back but this job is that important to you. Be sure to emphasize that you would not make the same mistake twice and if they would accept you back you would be dedicated whole heartedly and they would not regret it. Dawn
