Jill,
Thank you. Not to worry, I am a big fan of sugar free snow cones and they have been a major help before and after surgery. I use syrups sweetened with Splenda and do just fine.

Mary,
You have done a great job and it shows! Try someting else that would satisfy you and not make you sick. It's going to be a trial and error, so take it slow. I live in AZ to and agree about the heat UGH!!
Hopefully it will rain soon but not sunday on your party.
Have Fun!

Debbie,
I guess it was really good that it happened. It now has reinforced that sugar is NOT a good thing at all for me. I had been doing a bite or two of things Hal had, now it has furthered my resolve to stay away from that stuff totally. I just don't need it. AND if 2 grams of this stuff did me in, imagine what a cookie or 1/2 a piece of cake could do. Not worth it. The episode really scared me.
I lost 50 lbs before surgery, 80 since for the total of 130. I think I may be slower than many, but I remind myself at how far I have come. I am below my surgeon's goal for me. My goal was to be healthy and I truly am. I'm still considered obese (BMI 33.1) for my height, so I would like to lose more. I'm trying to take it a day at a time.
Can't wait to see everyone this weekend. So much support with them (and here too). I truly like coming to OH and being with all of you too.

You girls just amaze me with your weight losses. You have done such a incredible job. I was more nervous with my TT and Hysterectomy than I was with my gastric bypass. I suppose I was at the end of my rope and I knew I needed to have it done to live a long and healthier life. I felt that I was putting myself into jeopardy with the elective TT. I survived and you shall too. It is a very painful recovery, well at least for the first week or two, and then not so fun discomfort.
Good luck on your insurance approval.

Mary,
I'm sorry you had to go through that. I have not had any throwing up episodes since 2 or 3 weeks post op (food stuck) So I can't imagine how terrible that was. I'm glad you found out what caused it. I find I'm dumping more now, since my TT and hysterectomy. I have been able to tolerate a tablespoon of ice cream or even 2, but now I get so sick.
Hey,
I noticed your weight loss numbers!! Way to go Mary! You have done such a fabulous job, and you are one of the best cheerleaders on this board.
Hugs,
Debbie
Have fun at your barbcue

Linn,
Thank you.
I have always been sensitive to the sugar alcohols so usually avoid them totally. Since this had such a small amount I wasn't concerned. Always before I have had the laxative effect if the sugar alcohols were high. I was so suprised to have the racing heart, vomiting and diahrrea with the two popsicles. I just couldn't believe it. I have never had it happen this way before.
The good of this is that it is convinced me that I truly don't want sugar items ... this was just way tooo scary for me.

Mary,
Congratulations on your loss! It's wonderful, and you have done so well. Also, sorry about the cause.
I so understand about dumping on the sugar alcohols. In fact, I can tolerate more grams of regular sugar than any sugar alcohols.
Hope you can find something you like just as well that won't put you through this.
