Had open RNY on Monday morning and I came home earlier this afternoon. Yeah! My recovery is going SO well. I go back on Friday to get my staples out and jp drain out.. All in all I feel good, just tired. Just wanted ya'll to know I'm home and doing great. Jillybean

Well...this morning I got a call from my surgery coordinator. She was calling with some BAD news....Dr. Cavazos was coming to Houston to do my surgery and another girl's surgery on Friday....but the other has not gotten her insurance approval yet...so he doesn't want to come to Houston from San Antonio for just one surgery...I was in tears. Then, a light went off.....I asked if he would do the surgery in San Antonio...why not...I have to drive an hour and half to Houston...I'll just go another couple of hours. She acted shocked and said...you would go to San Antonio? I said...Hell Yeah...I've waited this long for the surgery I don't want to wait any longer. So she said let me call him and ask and I'll call you back. Got a call back a couple of hours later...saying he couldn't do it on Friday but there was a slim chance he could do it on Thursday...fine with me....the wait continued (LONGEST WAIT) then she called at the end of the day to say he can do it Thursday at 5:30. WOO - HOO...but my gosh I have so much to do now to get ready. My husband wasn't too thrilled - I even considered having (and asked her) go with me...but as of now he is going to go.

I know - I have been worried about getting a call from the surgeon's office saying I would need to do more. But I got the call today, that my insurance has officially approved the surgery! YEAH!!!!!!! I will send you an email with my contact info. No, I don't have an angel. Do you?

hmm, you should be concerned about that cold. I went and spoke with my anesthesiologist and they were very concerned because I had some head crud going on and that was 2 weeks ago! I think they worry about the possibiltiy of pneumonia. I hope you feel better and fast! My date is the same as yours! Its coming quick and I can't sleep a wink!
