I feel the pain with you. I had surgery 2/21/07 and I have lost 37 pound and have been there for the last 3 weeks. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or not eatting right I have been playing by the book. I wished I had some kind of help. I don't want to be stuck where I am. I am getting weak!!!!!!!!!!!! So I know exactly where you are coming from.
Topic: RE: Trouble Eating Eggs
Hey there Angela,
I had trouble with eggs about 2 weeks out. Oh, did I get so sick. I was told at a support group meeting that a hard boiled egg was fine as long as I mashed it up really, really good and made it creamy with light mayo. Well I did that and about 3 quarters thru it, I was like "Ohhhhhh, this is so not a good idea" I got really sick for 3 hours.
Then just last week I was craving eggs. So I made scambled eggs and it actually stayed down and everything was good. Then just Saturday I made an omlette with turkey bacon, onions and green peppers. It was really good and stayed down. So maybe its just a matter of waiting until you are able to "stomach" it.
Hope that helps.
Topic: RE: Is there a kind of protein powder
Unjury makes a wonderful flavorless powder that I use for everything. It's a tiny bit more expensive than some of the others, but it is a super fine powder that dissolves easily, is totally flavorless, and is super easy to digest.
I swear I am not paid to endorse this product, I just really really am impressed by it.

Topic: Is there a kind of protein powder
Hi, is there a kind of protein powder that is flavorless that I can just add to things like mashed sweet potato and stuff like that? I don't know if I am just thinking of the fiber powder that you add to stuff with no taste, or if I've actually heard some of you talking about this.
Topic: RE: Trouble Eating Eggs
I guess I've been lucky. I can eat pretty much anything....even eggs. I've read a lot of posts where people aren't able to eat them though. I would say give it a while and then try again--assuming you really like eggs?? Good luck.

Lisa,
Thanks for the post. It's nice to feel a little normal. By the way, your avatar looks alot like me. It was like looking at a picture of myself. Not trying to freak you out but it's interesting. Thanks for sharing your story. I'll work harder at the protein thing.
Thanks!

HI Jill,
I had my Lap RNY on 2/20/06 and am now at 27 lbs. at well I was at a stand still for about a week and a half. I am not eating much at all so I started making sure I had protien drinks 3 times a day and that has helped me to star the loosing again. I also mix a scoop of Jay Robb Chocolate Protien powder with my coffee (mix it in the Magic Bullet) it tastes like a Satrbucks Treat! I only allow myself 1 8oz cup of coffee a day and drink an extra 2 waters to offset it. I was getting sick of shakes so I went to www.bariatriceating.com for some new shake suggestions and I also use the IDS Whey Protien (test tubes) Fruit Punch mixed with my water & ice (24 grams of protien) and it's not creamy like all the shakes. Adding the 3 drinks started to move along the weight loss!
I was frusturated like you but am looking at it like that is less weight that I am carrying arround and more will be gone soon.

Topic: Trouble Eating Eggs
It's been a month since my surgery and I've been cleared to eat solid foods by my doctor! YEAHH!!!
So far, so good. I've been experimenting with a few things and it feels good to be able to eat a little!
But I'm still unable to eat EGGS!! UGGH!! Even in the pureed stage, I couldn't eat eggs! At first, I thought it was because it was too soon after the surgery. But yesterday, I had to take my DH to the airport and we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast. At first, I wasn't going to try anything even though I was really hungry. But then I decided to try a breakfast biscuit with sausage because I did have a sandwich on lite bread the other day with no problems.
But when I opened my sandwich, it was sausage, EGG, and cheese!! UGHH!! I thought, what the heck, let's try egg again. I took a small bite, chewed it until it was mush and swallowed. The first few bites went down okay, but once it landed in my tummy, OHHHHH NO!!!
It's the EGG! As soon as I took the egg off the same sandwich, the rest went down without a problem.
WHAT GIVES??? Will I ever be able to eat eggs again??
