Topic: RE: trouble eating breakfast
I have noticed in the morning I have trouble eating also, so I dont eat. I bought some whey protien powder and put a scoop in my coffee and the trick is to drink it slowly. It takes me half an hour to drink it all. This gives me 23 grams of protien in the morning, I wont eat breakfast after that until around 9:30. I think its that your rushing it, your rush days are over, if you are trying to get it down too fast, you will get that stuck feeling. Remember, this is a different way of life and you have to adjust to it. When they say take 20-30 minutes to eat and drink they are not kidding. Hope this helps you.

Topic: Three Week Check Up
I saw Dr. Champion yesterday for my 3-week check up and I lost 23 pounds! I am thrilled to say the least. I have been having problems with constipation, so he perscripted some meds and my blood pressure was too low (I can't imagine) so he said to half my bp pill each day. And lastly, I can stop the protein powder! yeah Thanks to all of you here for helping to keep me sane.

Topic: RE: Someone called me skinny today!!!
AMEN! There are some days when I waske up and am miserable for no reason what so ever except for the fact that I want to be. But then I get in the shower and catch a glimpse of my self in the mirror and am simply amazed by the difference (not that i think i am skinny yet by any means), so I will get ready and do my hair and make up for work and fit in those jeans i bought pre op and never fit in that are now to baggy on me and take a look in the mirror. Sometimes it makes me cry (happy tears) and sometimes it just gives me renewed energy. All I have to do to get out of that mood it look at myself in themirror in the morning and say damn I feel great and don't look half bad either. We all work so hard and sacrafice alot and feeling good is them ost important thing to me, and I mean feeling good physically and about my appearance. I keep telling everyone wait till summer, ya'll aren't gonna beable to tell me anything, they say they can't tell me anything now! lol Well this post is long enough, just wanted to share how i can get out of crabby mood just by getting ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day!

Topic: RE: Anyone with B12 problems?
I had terrible problems with energy post op & still struggle with it a bit. You can get good b12 at GNC. They are the only ones I know of that have the sublingual or the liquid kind (they are the only kind that are absorbed otherwise you are wasting time and money) You should call your surgeon (as I did) but for tonight I think its normal, it was for me, & the doc said that it was too. BTW what is a NUT?

Topic: RE: Puree Questions??
Honestly it is a hit or miss situation. I had my surgery 4 wks ago and I have found that I can't tolerate chicken or eggs for some strange reason. I am able to eat chilli and surprisingly taco salad. Ground beef and groud turkey are my best friends right now. I was able to eat tuna without puree. So it is different for everyone and you have to figure out what you can tolerate and what you can't. Take Care.

Topic: RE: Puree Questions??
I did puree lots of stuff. Even meatloaf goes down fine when its gloopy like baby food. (BTW it still tastes like meatloaf to me). Pureed salsa or avacado to add to cottage cheese. Pureed chicken. Basically whatever my family was eating I tried. (well actually I did draw the line at pizza, couldn't imagine that would go well) I experimented with pureeing even taboo foods such as pasta and rice at the end of my pureed foods stage (fyi, the rice practically turned to rocks even with sauce added to it so I realized then that rice may just be a thing of the past if I can't tolerate it several months down the line...seeing it for my own eyes did a whole lot more than all I had been told in the past). We'll see when we get there. Anyway don't worry about trying stuff if you've pureed it. You'll know in a couple bites if it will give you problems (like scrambled eggs did with me, by the 3rd bite I knew it wasn't good). But I understand how it still can make you nervous. I'm just working my way through chewing solid foods for the first time and I'm still nervous with new stuff. Good Luck.

Topic: Someone called me skinny today!!!
Today I am grouchy!!!For no particular reason I just am and want to be. So I have to go to work and I just want to work and get it over with. Anyway a coworker walked by my office opened my door and called in "Hey Skinny- What's going on?" We talked for a few minutes and now I am realizing how much better I feel. So the point of my post is I hope all of you can share you uplifting thoughts or things that have happened to you lately-especially any skinny comments that have made you feel happy. We are all working hard at this process and there is enough negativity for us all so let get some positivity on the board tonight!! Jennifer
