LOL I thought it was just me and my wonder nose as my hubby calls it..LOL I can smell things a mile away I think. I drink proti 15 ....I buy it from my Dr's office, but I think you can get it online. I like the grape and peach mango the best.

Hey Pam, I noticed you had LapBand on 2/26. I had it on 2/21 at Brigham & Womens. Just curious as to how you are feeling. I can finally sleep on my stomach and have pretty much been able to eat almost anything as long as I chew it well. I have been following the weigh****chers point system to keep myself in line. Are you counting calories or following a physician's diet? I go for my first fill on 4/10.

I agree - My sense of smell is much stronger. A friend suggested it was because I had gotten rid of all the toxins in my body and everything is running better now. Well I can't stand the smell of subway or other fast food so that is good.
I have stuck with types with more flavor and the smell doesn't seem too bad. I like chocolate and I add mint extract to it or Strawberry. Those seem to cover the protein smell somewhat. I am also now drinking the IDS New Whey- It comes in a test tube and is in a few fruit flavors. I add it to water as it is pretty strong tasting and very sweet. It comes in a 3 ounce tube and either 28 or 42 grams of protein. It is getting me out of the milk shake blahs.
It is good to talk to someone in the same boat-

I am 6 weeks post op and am trying protein powder. I have tried plain, vanilla, and chicken broth flavor. My problem?? IT STINKS. I don't mind the taste, but the smell makes me gag. It smells like chicken feed. I plug my nose to drink it. My sense of smell has gotten soooo strong since surgery. Prior to surgery I never smelled anything. Now I smell EVERYTHING. Has this happened to anyone else?? Also, does anyone know of a kind that does not stink?
Thanks, Shelley

Topic: RE: 3 weeks out of surgery and eating too much?
I'm new at this, so bear with me if I goof up. I also had my surgery on 2/26 and I was thinking that they messed up. I haven't felt full yet. I've only been eating the recommended amounts though and I've lost 30 lbs. This week has been especially tough. I thought that most issues were successfully dealt with during 6 mos. required counseling. NOT SO!!!! Today when my kids visited and brought pizza, I actually chewed up a little ( and spit it out ). I'm really missing texture and something that isn't SWEET. Most of the things that are on my list are sweet and that never was a favorite of mine. It's to the point that I gag when I try to drink them. Anybody have some support or ideas about this? Thanks in advance.
Topic: RE: What is your average weight loss?
My surgeon told me that about 7 is average. Maybe it's because I'm heavier... I don't know. Hope that helps.

I agree with the other posts. That is alot of food for such a short time post op. I am 6 weeks post op and can not eat more than about 1 1/2 ounces of food at a time. I would suggest going back to pureed foods or even liquids. You don't want to stretch your tool out. Are you rny or lap band that could be the difference too. Good luck and congrats on your loss!
