I agree with the other post. I am 5 weeks out and am still on a soft diet. I could have the eggs but not the bacon. Also I was told in 2.5 more weeks when I can eat anything I should focus on a low fat diet. Maybe just change some of your choices. Also how is the exercise going because I see a major difference in what I am loosing on days I walk and days I lounge. I see you are like 3-4 weeks out- 18 lbs is still fabulous and you need to celebrate the pounds lost and relax. The rest will come off. Jennifer

Hi LeeAnn, I had my surgery Feb 15 I am still on pureed foods and wont advance until this Friday. I think that is too much or maybe it is just what your eating? What did your doc say? I am not trying to get on you, but maybe try to go back to the basics for a couple weeks? Sorry I can't offer much advice and I hope things turn around for you.

Topic: RE: Anyone with B12 problems?
Hi, I am new to the board. I am having a lot of problems with my energy levels as well. I have no energy, but am working on doing a little more in order to get it up. The Dr. did do a blood test on me Thursday becuase I am having leg pain when I try to rest and he thought I may have a vitamin deficiency. I haven't heard anything back yet, but will let you know when I do. I go for my actuall follow up visit on the 21st because all the Dr.s were out so it is kind of late, but I am looking forward to it. I am so afraid to eat anything so I have only had yougurt, cream of chicken soup and pasta less manicotti so far. I want something else so bad, but am afraid of getting sick. I think that may be part of my energy problem.....that I'm not eating much real food.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone is where I am at? last night I ate 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes, and 3 pieces of ribs, then this morning I ate 1egg scrambled, with cheese and bacon in it, and 1/2 of a waffle. It all went down pretty good. I have not lost any weight since two weeks ago. To date I lost 18lbs. Thank you Lee-Anne

I am 3 wks out and my energy level is now close to my pre-op energy level. I started last week napping 1 1/2hrs in the afternoon. I started walking 1 mile a day and I stopped taking mid-day naps as of last Thursday. I sleep though the night and am sleeping about 8 hrs (this is done from 10hrs/night last week; pre-op, I was sleeping about 7 1/2hrs a night). I never "feel like" I want to walk, but I go out and do it. It has helped get my energy level back. I am also eating about 70 grams of protein and atleast 6 glasses of water. (I was told that if I drink more water, I will also have more energy.) I go back to my surgeon on 3/27 (my one month visit) and will have my blood tests conducted then. BTW - - I have lost a total of 31 lbs! ! ! Colleen

My recent favorites are Vanilla with a tsp of sugar free cheesecake pudding or chocolate with some mint extract - taste like a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie. Good Luck- Jennifer

I am 3 1/2 weeks out and my fatigue is terrible. I'm gonna call my PCP on Monday and ask to be seen Tuesday (I'm off that day). I wonder if my B12 level or hemaglobin is off. Did anyone have to start B12 injections post-op? I just feel like something is not right. I told my NUT that I was having a hard time getting in the exercise and she said that wasn't normal and I needed to call my surgeon. Just wondering what others have gone thru. I've been back to work for a little over a week now. ...Jill

OMG - I am having the same problem. I'm drinking 32+ oz of water a day, what my surgeon recommended for now (I'm only 3 weeks out) and I am constantly thirsty. Like you, I just want to chug my water, and at times have even forgotten to be careful and taken a big gulp, then ended up with such a stomach ache I needed to lay down to let the water pass. I miss my diet pepsi, but have found Fruit2O is helpful as well as Crystal Light. Julie

I too had lap rny 2/15 I am down 30lbs but havent lost weight in 2 weeks but I guess I am losing inches I work ouit 3-4 times a week trying to make it at least 5 but I work full time and have 2 small children. I also am drinkin alot of water and protien. I can eat pretty good I just eat enough to satisfy and that is about it my hips (which I like) are pokin out as my mid section and sides slim down. Im workin on tighten up my thighs since I have always had big thighs. I am excited for my formation process. My cousin had lapband 11/17 and she informed me today before she flew out to Jamaca that she has officially lost 100 lbs today. God is definitly good.

Topic: RE: 3 weeks out of surgery and eating too much?
I also am eating about 1 cup - 1.5 cup per meal to the point where I feel full. When I hear what others eat, (support groups and such) I feel like I'm doing something wrong too. But I know that when you add up the calories of what I'm eating, its still well below what I was eating before. And way healthier too. A cup of soup versus a "cup worth" of french fries is a world of difference. Certainly alot of it has to do with the swelling going down in the stomach. Hopefully you have regular access to your nutritionist and a follow up appointment with the surgeon soon so they can help you track the process. Keep your chin up. The surgery is a tool, there's alot left up to you...just remember that confidence is your best friend.
