Topic: RE: 3 weeks out of surgery and eating too much?
I am in the same boat. I'm 15 days post op and have been able to eat more food then I thought I could. It's mostly soup, but I can get in about a cup and a half with no problem. I've lost 13lbs and wonder if I'm doing something wrong as well. I have a three week post op appt next week, so I'll be asking a lot of questions.

Sorry to hear about your trials. I actually didnt have a BM for 2 weeks after surgery. I just thought, well, Im not eating right so theres nothing there. Wrong... needless to say I had a ruff time. I ended up pushing alot of water and using Ducolax. I have continued to use it cuz it seems I have few regular BM's and most of the time I am constipated. I know have bleeding hemroids (sry for that I know its gross) but I bought Fibersure. Its made by Metimucle

I did soley liquids for 2 weeks and when I finally started eating, rather sipping soups, it took me so long to get some of it down that I would have to continually microwave my bowl of soup cuz it kept going cold on me. I think the first soup I ate was diluted chicken noodle minus the lil chicken pieces. The broth and a small amount of noodles took me near an hour and I think it was the first time I ate a 1/2 a can of soup and was to full to finish the rest. Kinda funny. Let us know what kind of foods you get to try. One of my now favs is mashed potatos and gravy from KFC
Good Luck and remember sip sip sip and chew chew chew

I hear ya! I literally lived on Gatorade and Vitamin Water for 2 full weeks. Then my husband would make creamy soups and I would have a spoon full here and there and got the pressure in the chest feeling to and figured liquids were the way to go lol. Eventually I started with yogurt, cottage cheese, then Mashed potatoes n gravy from KFC mmmm
Topic: RE: I am SOOOO Tired!
YAY! Im so thankful this is normal, I was starting to get a lil worried. I am exhausted all the time and then about 4am Im laying staring at the walls but not to worry lol, a few hours after that Im sleeping like a baby again and take lil cat naps throughout the day. My Doc also said, just hang in there you will experience a huge spike in energy, but Im 5 weeks post-op and just not feeling it yet tho I feel SO much better
Hang in there.

Im 5 weeks post-op and I am having the same issue. I can eat pretty good at this point. I lost 40 lbs. in lil under 4 weeks after surgery and now have stalled or rather flexuate within 4 lbs. up and down for over a week now =/ I heard RNY patients dont absorb anything but carbs pretty much, I hope thats true cuz I have been getting ALOT of fat grams with my protien drink daily. Lemme know what you find out, I would be curious to find out if this is normal or are we doing something wrong =/

I was the same way for the first few weeks as well. I felt like I could eat anything that I wanted and wondered if they really even did the surgery. lol Well it changed and I wouldn't eat a whole lot more that what you are suppose to only because it can stretch your tool out. I drink all day and won't eat, I definitly get my fluid intake. The difference it I can't eat fattening foods or sweets they make me sick. So while you maybe able to eat alot, is there things that make you sick to try or smell. You are only 3 weeks out so I would be careful with what you try. Good LUck

Topic: RE: KEWL!! My first WOW moment!!
At a support group meeting once they asked what made us have surgery other than health reasons or family. Mine was to be able to cross my legs again. Girl for the pass three weeks I have been crossing them every chance I get. It is the best feeling in the world to whip that leg over the other one and be able to breath. Congrats and trust me there are very many more WOW moments to come
