I know someone told me how good people start feeling. So I was so upset when I felt bad for the first week. Now slowly but surely I am feeling better. Cindy

Topic: RE: 11 days PS and my Stomach still feels swollen!!! Is this normal?
My surgery was on feb. 28. I would say that just the last two days my tummy is feeling normal. I was surprised how long it took to feel better. Cindy
Topic: I just found you
Hi everyone! I just found this board with everyone that had surgery in the month of February and I am so excited. I normally post on the Tennessee board and they were all such a big help but to have people that are going through what I am at approximately the same time will be great. I had lap rny on 2/1/07 and I have lost 42 lbs. I am very excited about that! I only have 75 lbs to go to my goal weight which is 140-145. One thing I am having a problem with is that I am so thirsty all the time and just want to chug my water, since I can't I sip it all day and sometimes forget that I need to eat something. Anyone else have this problem? I am wondering if this thirst is normal or if I just drank alot before my suregery. I was a huge soda drinker probably a 12 pack of pepsi a day, and now all I drink is water. Well I can't wait to get to know you all and hope I can help anyone if they need it.

I too feel the same about losing too slowly. Maybe we all expect to much or are just too excited to "get on with it already"!
I am 5 weeks post op and I am down 23 pounds since surgery but I lost 15 more on the 2-week presurgery liquid diet. So....do I say I am down 38 pounds or do I say 23 pounds.
My doctor said not to worry about the weight. It WILL fall off.
I have not had one single problem since surgery. It has been a breeze. I like not feeling hungry and I wish that feeling would last forever. Food is not ruling my life now and I am amazed at how much free time I have not "eating".

I know Exactly how you feel! I had my surgery on the 15th and my first week I lost 24 pounds, then nothing up until last Friday I was down 5 pounds! I was like this is crazy. The clothes thing, well that is something else, I can start to see the change, I actually feel it. And my stomach went down a lot, it is an amazing experience

I had RNY on the 26th also. My stomach is still a little sore too, especially around the incisions. Try walking just a little to start, maybe that will help speed along the heeling process. I know I feel better even after just a short walk. Good luck to you!

Today is exactly one month for me and I'm down 38lbs. Yeah! My clothes are starting to hang on me...I love it! I'm amazed at what a breeze this whole surgery has been. One week after surgery and I went on a 3 mile hike with my son. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Had I known it would be this easy I'd have done it ages ago! Only negative is I feel like the weight is not coming off fast enough. I was stuck at 32lbs. for almost 10 days. Finally 6 more came off in the last week. How's everyone else doing who had their surgery on or about the 12th? How much have you lost? How do you feel physically a month later?
