Topic: I am SOOOO Tired!
I am feeling better as each day goes given that I am still really only 1 week out. But I am sooo darn TIRED!! I got up this morning and caught up on some e-mail and bills and 3 hours later, I'm pooped and needed a NAP! When does this phase go away? It's a shame because today was such a beautiful day outside and I wanted to go outside and just hang out with my family outside but I just didn't have the energy. I expected to be tired, but I'm already OVER this phase of things. I would like to get through one day without needing several naps!

You all are doing great!!! My lap RNY was 2/27 and I haven't weighed. I don't own a scale and don't plan to buy one. I'll wait and be surprised at my 3 week check up.

creamy soups went down just fine.at two weeks out i was still pretty limited.. i made sure to stick to what i suppose to take in..i only wanted everything to heal really well before i started putting different things in my pouch. i know how hard it is..but it does get better..u just have to try to be patient. After my two weeks i started having plain cream of wheat with sweet n low , fat free light yogurts, and the cream soups. oh and lots of sugar free popcicles. the real fruit bar brands are the best..i find them at albertsons. I didn't start cottage cheese until i was going into my 4th week. Big sips still kinda bother me. sometimes i just want to take a huge drink but can't. I have to take this huge pill for my gall bladder and oh man does it hurt when i gulp tha****er...but it's getting better. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask...take care and best wishes to you on your new life!! Topic: RE: 20 pounds in 20 days!
Man, this is where this board is a wonderful thing for me. I am 17 days post op and 20 pounds down. I want to congratulate you on your 20 pounds also! My husband said to me, "when was the last time you lost 20 pounds? It was such a big deal when you did that a few years ago!" 20 pounds is huge and should really be celebrated! What I am sad to see but happy to not be alone is that my jeans don't fit any different than they did pre-op. I don't mean to sound twisted, but it makes me feel normal to know that others are feeling the exact same way. I will say this, I notice a difference when I look in the mirror without clothes. Still don't like what I see yet but it's an improvement (that I don't get to share with anyone!) Otherwise, there are two places I've noticed some weight loss. One is my face just a little (praise God!) and the other for some weird reason is my knees. Go figure! I believe the next 20 pounds will bring an amazing difference and a new wardrobe! As far as enery, I am having a really hard time with that one. I worked all day (first day back) on Thursday and pushed myself thru, but yesterday for the entire day I was a wet dish rag. I have slept soo much. I'm really worried about this energy thing because I work full time and have a 1 yr old and 3 yr old at home. I really, really don't want to fall back to energy supplements but I'm nervous about this fatigue and having to work. So I'm there with you! Thanks for posting this. I feel better about where I stand. Congrats on your success! ...Jill

Topic: RE: On 3rd week and going nuts..I need help!
I kinda know about the belching thing. Everytime anything goes down, I have some mid chest discomfort until I belch. Usually one belch is all I take and it goes back to normal, then I can take another bite or sip. If I feel that feeling and I don't belch, I don't put anything else into my mouth until the feeling goes away or I eventually belch. I have bought gas-x strips but haven't needed to try them yet. This issue has gotten a little better over time. However, I'm only 2 1/2 weeks out now. I was able to have cottage cheese and tuna at week two. Can't have eggs yet. Hope you get to feeling better! ...Jill

my advice would be to measure everything. I had this surgery twice. And the first time I was upped to full liquid I went home and ate an entire pudding cup with room to spare. This time I meassure. I am now a month out of my revision and cant eat much of anything although I am allowed to eat what I want. I want more. That is my addiction to food. also remember, the old "its a tool". It really is. It doesnt work for everyone. Surgery doesnt cure our addiction to food or our lazy streaks. It only helps us curb it. Good luck I really do know how hard it it!

Topic: RE: 23 days post-op
Charlotte - This is my first post. I was a little nervous because everyone seemed to be having such a positive experience. Well I had my surgery on 02.05.07 and had been sick since I had it. N/V every single day and I couldn't keep anything down (including water). I decided I was crazy for doing this. Finally, I called my surgeon (I had the procedure out of state) on March 2 and ended up being hospitalized for six days and being put on TPN (feeding through IV). Apparently my potassium had dropped so low I was at risk for heart issues. I have gained back almost 10 pounds since the TPN but at least I'm out the hospital. So believe me, you are not alone. Not all of us apparently get the immediate positive results. Kimberly

I had my surgery 2/14. The 1st week I lost 11lbs, the 2nd I lost 17lbs. I don't go back to the doctor until the 19th of this mnth. So I don't know if it's the same or what. LOL
