Have you tried any of the blended soups? Cream of Tomato? Just remember to eat very slowly. Sorry not much help. Hang in there it won't be long before you can advance. Cathy Z.

Topic: RE: Drainage, help!
Hi Crystal: A little drainage is normal if it is not yellow, green, or foul smelling. Also, as long as you are not running a fever. Does the incision look red? If so, you need to contact your physician right away. Good Luck Cathy Z

Topic: RE: One Week Tomorrow Since Surgery
I'm continuing to improve each day and each night gets just a little better with sleeping. I had my first in town experience today and went to a couple of stores. I was so tired when I returned! The liquid diet thus far has been no problem. My sister returns home tomorrow so, I'll be on my own then! Alberta

I'm on a full liquid diet. I tried eating pudding and cream of wheat and was fine for a couple of days. However, 2 days ago i had that "stuck" feeling and threw up some clumps of things. I'm wondering if i ate too much of the stuff. I didn't feel full. anyway, now i'm just curious what else people are eating on full liquids. i tried all types of yogurts, but i really dont' like yogurt. i also dont like the juices with the artificial sweeteners. i'd rather just drink water with some lemon in it. i'm tired of broth. i'm dying for eggs, cottage cheese, tuna (never really wanted it before), cheese in general, crab. obviously i can't do that. also, does anyone have the belching problem? everytime i eat anything besides water, i have a lot of belching. HELP ME! kim

Topic: RE: 20 pounds in 20 days!
Great job!!! I'm 10 day out, had the lap RNY and am down 22 pounds, also not noticing much of a difference. I started out at 337 and am down to 315. Like you, I was completely annoyed when I put on my jeans, but I'm sure one of these days in the not so distant future we will start to see/feel major differences. I'm still a little achy from the surgery, so I'm not feeling my energy level improving yet. I'm still on a liquid only diet, so I'm hoping with the added soft foods my energy increases some. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll be feeling the difference soon!

Wow, I'm right in the boat with you guys! I finally got to start actual food this week, and what a relief. I've been eating eggs, cottage cheese, string cheese. All yummy. I have a suggestion for sleeping on your side. It really helped me. I am definitely a side sleeper, and it felt so good to be able to do it again. I take a fluffy pillow and put it at my side and when I wanna turn onto my side, I kinda roll onto the pillow. that added support really helps. Hope it helps at least some.

Hi there! I am 2 weeks and 1 day out and I am down 22 pounds so far! To be honest, in my jeans and things like that, I don't notice much of a difference, but in the more pajama and sweat suits that I wear, I do! I was disappointed when I put my jeans on and they felt the same, but believe me, there has to be a difference there. Congrats on your weight loss. I say definitely tgake pictures, and look at yourself before and after.. and you will notice a difference. I didn't until I took pictures. Good luck and congrats on the weight loss thus far!!!

Topic: 20 pounds in 20 days!
I had LapBand surgery on Feb 15th, at 320 lbs. At my 2-week follow-up I was 306. And at yesterday's appointment with the dietitian, I was an even 300 lbs!!!! Wahoo! 20 pounds in 20 days! I know there are those of you loosing faster than me at this point, but I am thrilled!! It would have taken me 3 months to get here on any of the other diets I've tried before (if I even reached the 20# mark at all), and then the dreaded plateau would begin... May that not be the case now!!!! With my jubilation proclaimed, I have to say...I don't notice one bit of difference having lost those 20 pounds. I'm weighing in wearing the exact clothes I wore at my last pre-op appointment. And they fit exactly as they did 3 days before my surgery!!!! Gurr! I thought 20 # would make a difference somewhere, but I look & feel just like I did before! Are y'all noticing any changes yet -- in the way your clothes fit; your appearance; your energy level? How much did you loose before you started to see those changes? -- Suzanne LapBand - Dr. Terracina - Newport News, VA Banded 2-15-07 at 320 lbs / BMI 58.5 / 32W Current: 300 lbs / BMI 55 / 32W Goal: 125 lbs / BMI 23 / Single digit dress size
