I too feel the same way.. I had my surgery 2/5 and to date I have only lost 36 lbs.. 28 in my first two weeks... but I hear this is what usually happens..

I too had my surgery on the 27th and I have not slept in my bed since. My bed is really high up and I run to the bathroom way to much in the middle of the night. I was afraid of hurting myself getting out of the bed. I think tonight I will try to sleep in the bed. I am trying to get another few days off from work. They want me to go back on 3/19, but I think the extra week would take me to a point where I will be 100% better. I am feeling pretty good right now, but I am so tired of the liquid diet right now. I need to drink more and walk more, but sometimes I don't seem to be able to get all the liquids in.

I am 3 weeks out and have lost post op 15 lbs. Sounds like you are doing great. Don't get discouraged. It is just your body adjusting to that rapid of loss. 32 lbs in 3 weeks. I'll do the happy dance for you!!

What does it look like? Just bloody or clear or is there any sign of green/white type drainage? The safest bet would be to call you clinic and let them know about it.

Hi Sally, I just had my surgery on 2/27. So glad things are going well for you. Like you, I had to pay out of pocket for my surgery too. You got a great price. I took out a loan, mine was a $21,500 for everything. I agree, reading the posts really help to get through the rough times, makes you realize that you're not alone in all you're going through. I wish you the best. Keep me posted on how it goes!

Hi! I'm 9 days out and down 21 pounds. I agree, it comes off really fast the first few days, then slows down. Hang in there, I'm sure it will pick up again!

I have drianage coming from my incision (just a little) is this normal? I had the open gastric bypass feb 23rd and its been going on for two days and I hate this, any advice.

I know your glad your home! Don't feel bad, my period came on the day after the surgery, which really sucked. So I know how you feel! Good luck to you!

Tomarrow is my 1 month too. I know what you mean about getting all your protein in. It's hard for me too. I am now eating things like cheese and cottage cheese. I try to eat things that have some protein in them also..pinto beans and cheese is a good one too. I'm sure things will hold down better as you progress more. I'm having a hard time not taking too big of drinks..ouch! Are you eating creamy soups? They always go down pretty easy for me now. Well I wish you all the best on your new life...just keep thinking like I do..It's only going to get better!! Take care..Jennifer

The pain last a little longer
I am one day shy of being 2 weeks out and got to sleep on my right side last night!! It was so great!! I like to sleep on both sides and the belly sometimes and cant wait to do it again!! Oh and i tottaly here you about the SF Jello and Clear broth!! I want real food with texture!! HAHAHA!!! Tomorrow i can have some new stuff and i cant wait!!
