Topic: RE: Stuck at 32lbs lost at 3 weeks post op
I'm 11 days out at 15 pounds. I have exercised but right now I feel too weak to exercise. I have been doing alot of working. 32 pounds at 3 weeks sounds amazing. Keep going. You're doing better than the average. ...Jill

Topic: Hi everyone, I'm new here...
but I've been reading the posts to get me thru...THANKS TO ALL WHO POST!!!! I had my surgery on 2/28 and so far everything is going well. I did my band here in Frankfurt, Germany because i found that it was about the same price as Mexico an other such places: 7000 euros (includes 1 night in hospital)= approx. 9000$ my plane ticket was less than 500$ and I stayed at an awesome hotel. Total trip, just over 10G's, worth every penny. Anyone who wants info let me know. In the meantime, just wanted to introduce myself. I will post more tomorrow. tired right now, Many thanks and much love! Sally

Glad to know that you are doing so well , and I know as each days comes you will start feeling much better. I know what you mean about the pureed meat, what I did was cooked all my meat in a crock pot. I had things like chicken breast that I cooked in a crock pot I would cook it on low heat for about 6-8 hours...the meat was almost like pureed. I hope that you have a fast recovery. Have a good weekend. Stephanie Thompson

5 days since surgery and I am doing well. Each day I feel much better. Can't say this was the worse pain I have felt. Glad I am off work for the next 3 wks. The thought of eating pureed meat makes me sick - - does anyone have a good recipe?

I had my surgery the same day as you did and Ive lost 12 lbs so far. Still on pureed diet and havent started exercising yet. I think once I get out and start moving around the weight will start coming off faster.

Hi Shelley, Congratulations, especially on making it so long with liquids Every doctor is completely different and none of them are wrong, just different. My doctor, who has done about 300 RNY, with no leaks (which I was so scared of) has 3 stages of food, 1st stage clear liquids for the day before, day off and day after (if you are doing well of course), 2nd stage which is full liquids (soups, hot cereal, pudding, etc) when home from hospital, and 3rd stage, soft diet (tuna, thin deli meats, eggs, refried beans, all vegies mashed, some fruits, crispy crackers or crispy credsticks if chewed well, etc..) after 10 days...again if you are doing good. No matter what you still have to chew very well and take your time as you introduce everything. I have not gotten sick on anything but I am full quick and it takes me about 30-40minutes to eat..I go very slow...kind of scared. )) Anyway, enjoy food again...in a very healthy way! Mariam

Topic: Finally a full soft diet!! and it was worth the wait!
OK, I have to say that even though I am still limited, it is so nice to not be on soup anymore! For breakfast I had cottage cheese and pears, for lunch I had tuna on some low fat crispy wheat crackers (no bread!) and for dinner I had some refried beans, a little cheese and avacado. I do not feel quite as lethargic as I have been feeling. oh and of course CHEW CHEW CHEW first
