Topic: RE: Stuck at 32lbs lost at 3 weeks post op
From what I understand it's super common to have a stall at about 3 weeks...I'm in the middle of it myself. Take care and don't worry - it should end soon.

Hi Lynn - I originally went to Dr. Bauman but after he turned out to be a schmuck I went with Dr. Voellinger out of Charlotte. Who is your doctor?

Topic: RE: 6 days post-op and finally a BM
wish I could pass gas!!
The only time I do is when I have a BM (full liquid diahrea). I guess I'm lucky that I've had one each day since surgery. No enema but a full bottle of citrate of magnesium prior to surgery. My "stomache" gurgles everytime a take a sip of water! Is that normal? I'm still on clear liquids (SF jello and clear broth only****il Monday at least.

Hi, I am in Mooresville too! Just starting all the pre -op stuff , then it goes to the insurance co, who did your surgery? Lynn
Topic: RE: 5 or 6 days post opp and what are you eating?!?!
I'm 3 days out and can only have broth & SF jello until next week after my appt. Am looking forward to more substance, although I'm not hungry. Just weak, which I attribute to a combination of anesthesia, pain killer, and lack of protein.

Liquids for 4 weeks? I've never heard or read of that. Did you have open? I had to go liquid for 2 weeks prior and one week following. According to the plan my Doc gave me, I should be able to start "full" liquid (more solid soups, yogurt, etc) next week. I have an appt on Monday. Question: how long did the soreness (front/back) hang around?
Topic: RE: I'm home from surgery!!!! Thank God!!!
I just got home Wed from having RNY on Tue. I don't think it is fair to compare the two, open is probably much more of a shock to the system and way more painful. Things aren't so bad for me, except for my back hurting a LOT. I haven't been really gassy either...unless that is what is causing my back to hurt? I used a Gas-X strip once but didn't really notice a difference. I noticed that I usually have to burp after I have a sip of water, and that can be a bit painful. I'm not on solids yet. Only water, jello, and clear broth. I haven't been craving anything at all, but the chicken broth has to be really hot or I want to gag! Water has to be room temp. Hope to get soft food next week, I'm really looking forward to an egg and maybe some yogurt or sugar free pudding! Hang in there.....things will get better for you, I'm sure.

I lost 30 lbs in one week. Then only 2lbs so far for week 2. Now I'm almost into the 3rd week and I'm not losing weight! It has been 4 days at the same weight! I eat nothing, walk 3 miles everyday. How much have the other Feb. surgeries lost?
