No way, Shelley Johnson! What a great name huh.
I doubt we have the same middle names though, mine is a bit odd (Ione).
Wouldn't you know, my Doc cancelled my appt today because of the snowstorm and now I go in on Monday. That means 3 EXTRA days on liquid only! I am lucky I am not hungry at this stage.

You are TOTALLY not alone!!! I have hesitated posting on this forum until EVERYONE had their surgery so I didn't discourage anyone. I have yet to be happy I had this surgery. I have seen results (with weight loss) - but as you said, food is for crap, when I try something that sounds good my pouch protests
, and the water is all I can tolerate. Crystal light and milk aren't workin' for me. I often ask myself what I have done to me...why I made this choice and wonder when, if ever, I will feel "normal" again. I have to remind myself I did it for my health right??? But I have never felt so sick (constantly tired, unable to eat, not wanting to do anything, depressed). UGH - I could go on... But bottom line - you are not alone my dear. Sometimes I think posting the negative isn't popular on this site, but it is our reality and we have a right to it right???
Feel free to PM me anytime.

First of all - WE SHARE A NAME - Weird to see it posted on here!
Secondly, I can't believe you had to go on liquids so long! You are a very very patient soul! I know you must be excited to get to some "real" food. I know when I got to pureed food my options seemed to open immensley! Good luck getting to your doc and enjoy!!

Topic: RE: BM problems!!!!-question?
Hey Charlotte,
I had a HORRIBLE day the other day due to the same issue. I woke up and it felt like a brick was in my belly and I had major pain. When I called my Dr.'s office they suggested milk of magnesia - but it didn't work for me preop so I didin't expect much. Again, no luck. Later I asked if I could use a Fleet's enema (I know its yucky) but IT WORKED!!! I was SO Happy and feeling so much better within an hour. Check with your doctor - but this really helped me.
Good luck!

Heather,
Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. As for my doctor's office. I am very disappointed with them. I feel like they really don't care. My next follow up with them isn't till March 21st. I think I've called a total of 5 times to talk about my problems and they are more like robots. Each day is a very small amount better. But I'm just not bouncing back like I would like. Well ready or not it's back to the real world Monday for a 8 hour shift. We went to a banquet for my daughter last night that was about 3 hours long and I was wore out! It's going to be a long week. Anyway thanks for the post it's nice to know that what I'm going through is not totally abnormal. Hope you feel better soon too.

I'm three weeks out now and i felt the exact same way! I just spent two days in the hospital due to dehydration and nausua and i feel so much better. I just had no energy and was having the most difficult time getting anything down without gagging.
I just wanted to let you know you arent alone in feeling discouraged, but you should make a follow up appointment with your surgeon and keep pushing for some help from the doctors office.
Good Luck
Heather

I had my surgery on Feb. 26 and am on liquids for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I can progress to pureed. Looking forward to it though I'm not feeling at all hungry. So far, I eat because I know I have to.
Kind of a weird feeling.
Topic: Wooohooo!!!!
Hi everyone!
I am 4 weeks post-op and have been on liquid only (3 shakes and water) for a total of 6 weeks! I have not had ANY food for 6 weeks!!! Anyway, tomorrow (weather permitting - we are in the middle of a blizzard in MN) I am seeing my doc and he is going to give me some foods to introduce.
WOOOHOOO! He told me at my last visit that the liquid only part was the easy part. Eating food is the tough part and I guess I have not been sick at all other than a little nausea that I attributed to needing a bm.
Does anyone else out there have to follow this liquid menu or am I the only one who's doc said no food? Not complaining, just curious!

Topic: RE: I'm home from surgery!!!! Thank God!!!
Welcome home. I'm recently home from surgery myself. I was able to have the lap rny, so that has made some of it easier than if it had been open. I know what you mean by the gas issue though. Boy my tummy gets tight. The clinic told me to try to walk walk walk. They discouraged me from taking anything for the gas pains. Just let it work its way out the old fashioned way.
Congrats on getting through the post op period. I know there will be bumps along the road, but you're on the way to better health.

OMG I had my surgery the same day and went to the dr's on tues and Im on pureed foods I cant believe your able to eat pizza and chocolate isnt that kinda defeating the purpose of having the surgery?? I started mashed potatoes wet down with broth and its not so bad and you can also have scrambled eggs. There's alot of soft foods that are way better for you then pizza and chocolate.
Well good luck
