Topic: RE: 2 weeks post op ?????
Wow I am 2 weeks and 2 days post op and I've had pizza, chocolate - anything I wanted really but I can only eat a tiny tiny bit before feeling sick. I hate the protein shakes so I have not had one of them since trying one inthe hospital. My doctor just told me to chew everything 30 times before swallowing. I miss soda but I did have a few sips here and there. Mostly I live on the fruit flavored waters like Fruit20 or Propell. I've lost 32 pounds so far- yeah!

Hi: I am 3 weeks out today; I see the surgeon on Friday to also get a change in my diet. I am only allowed two 8oz glases of skim milk, 12 oz of broth and Sugar free gelatin and popscicles. Those of you who get soups and applesauce and yougart are very lucky. Next week I get to add applesauce, pears and some soft vegtables to the same diet already mentioned. 5 weeks my diet will change again. It is amazing how each Doctor's diet plan is differnt.

Hello! Let me just tell ya, the first 2 weeks were the hardest for me. My diet in those 2 weeks consisted of: meal replacement shakes, broth, sf jello, and sf popsicles...which were my lifesavers!!! Now that I am 3 weeks post op, I am on soft foods...I am eating cottage cheese, refried beans w/ cheese, creamed cauliflower, tuna, yogurt, milk, and a few saltine crackers. I will tell ya once I got on soft foods, watching my kids and hubby eat doesn't bother me at all now. I just feel very satisfied now even though I am eating very little. Also, as far as protein, I just cannot do the nasty shakes any longer, so I discovered the protein bullets. They are 2.5 oz of a fruity liquid. Takes 3 drinks and you are done and have 25 grams of protein!!!! Take Care, Lisa

Topic: RE: 6 days post-op and finally a BM
I hate to say it, but this does make me feel better. I had surgery on Monday the 26th and didn't even pass gas til last nite (the 27th). I then had a b.m. too....woohoo. Was starting to get a bit concerned. I knew the bowels were working coz I could hear them rumble. Plus the gas seemed to be building up, causing a bit of pain, so felt good to get rid of it.

I am 2 days post op and I'm having protein drink (but not the powder...dietician says not yet), strained soup, yogurt, applesauce, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding. I am not eating much though. Takes awhile to get through my 1/4 cups of stuff plus I'm not hungry.

Good luck Reagan. I had my surgery on Monday the 26th. It went great and while I have some pain...overall I'm doing great. Today is the first day I'm trying Tylenol rather than Dilaudid. I know you will do just as well. Hear is to healing and becoming members of loserville!

Topic: Surgery tomorrow
Well, tomorrow is the day. I wasn't nervous until the last couple of days. I drank the yucky laxative crap...it was horrible! Surgery is scheduled for 6 AM I hope that there are no complications. Thank you to all who have sent me messages, I really appreciate it. Good luck to all. Reagan
