Topic: RE: 4 days until my WLS and I'm SCARED!!
Hi Angela, just so you know, I am scared also! My surgery date is March 2 and I go for all my pre-op testing on the 27th. I am almost as scared for all the pre-op testing as I am the surgery. Did you have to do the upper GI test, the ultra sound on your gall bladder, the pulmonary testing, ect. I want this so bad, and like you I have everything in order, My parents are even here (12 hour drive) to support me and help me afterwards. So, ya why am I so scared??? or maybe not scared as extremely nervous? Anyway, I commented just to let you know you aren't the only one who is a ball of nerves..... Good luck!

Topic: RE: First bad day
OK, I only had my surgery 4 days ago but I will tell you that I have been experiencing nausea at about 3 am or late in the evening before dinner...I have finally figured out that my puoch was just too empty for too long because even if I do not think I want to eat, if I eat something small...preferably chicken broth (salty) it goes away. I have now tested this 4 times and it has worked everytime....so maybe this is going on..?? I am getting ready for bed right now and just told my hubby I would be up around 3 or 4 for my middle of the night snack/pouch refill. I can not eat enough at meals yet and I think my body know it so does not want to wait that long. Just a thought. Mariam

Well, I called today to get my report/surgery time and, as I'd hoped, it is in the morning. I report at 9 and surgery is scheduled for 10. I'm glad I don't have to wait until afternoon......to stressful! Only 3 more days!!

Hang in there Angela. I'm scheduled for the 27th and, although I'm not scared (at least I don't think so!)....I know what they mean by nervous excitement. I don't think I've had time to get scared, what with mid-terms, grandkids, and planning to be off of work for 4-6 weeks. We'll make it through next week!

Hiya Mariam- Congrats on your surgery! I'm so sorry you have the gas pains..it does get better..just takes awhile! I did many laps in the house I have a computer chair that has a massager in it too. I did both..it helps. I was really sore after my surgery but felt better once I passed it. Just keep walking. Don't get so concerned with getting everything in..it's impossible in the beginning. Eventually you'll get it. I still have problems at times getting all my supplements in. I disagree with the last post. Some docs discourage straw use but mine didn't and I use them. It helps me with getting everything in..especially with the protein..'cause it stinks! If I don't smell it..it's not as bad. Hope this helps..Good luck and CONGRATS on your surgery again
