Don't let our whining scare you. I am now almost 2 weeks out and doing great. I won't lie...it's super hard, but sooo worth it. I think we all tend to go through a phase where we wonder "what the heck have I done?". I hit a point at around day 4 where I thought that I had made a huge mistake. The pain wasn't so horrible, it was that I was in pain and couldn't comfort myself with my old friend food. But, I think for the most part, we all break through that and get on with our lives.
I also can't say this enough...Gas-X strips. People are gonna start thinking I own the company, but I swear, they are your best friend.

Hi...sorry you're having a rough time. My surgery was Feb 5th and I totally know what you're going through. The good news is, it DOES get better. Have someone go get you a package of the Gas-X strips. They saved me those first few days home. I swear half of my pain was from the gas pressure.
As far as your diet goes, it seems that every surgeon has a different opinion. I left the hospital after 2 days on a full liquid diet, which I think is pretty typical. Did that for 10 days and am now on the pureed diet. I actually like the CIB but it does get old. You should be able to do broth. I would definitely call that nutritionist. Good luck!!!

Hi Donna! My name is Chris and I started checking out this site back in Dec. I am having Lap RNY on Feb 26...only 9 days to go!!! That's awesome to hear you have done so well in your loss so far! I'm wearing a 24 or 26 now and can't wait to at least get into an 18 again....ahhhhh the hopes and dreams! I have 2 kids and can't wait til I can get out this spring and run around with them. My girls are 7 and 16 months. I don't think my 7 year old will know what to do when Mommy can run around with her..lol I do a lot of posting on the main board but all the boards are great and very supportive and helpful.

Hi my name is Bobbi, and I have a surgery date set for March 2, that is like just around the corner....I was reading some of the posts and I guess I am scared to death now, some of you are saying it is painful and you are struggling so much with fluid intake and you are crying and wanting food and wondering around the house....does this pass, is this really worth it?? I was 100 percent sure I was ready for this and ready for a life of change, but I have to admit reading some of these posts has got me frankly wanting to back out. Anyone that could let me know that all the pain and crying and such is all worth it and all that is gone quickly. I am new to this website and I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Wengert in Marshfield.

My surg is Monday but I was told to buy some gas x and that would help.

Keep up the good work Cissy!!! Just make sure you don't accidentally swallow a chunk! Awesome weight loss .... I'm 12 days out too and down 20#'s from day of surgery. Down 36 if you consider the 16 I gained in water retention!!!!

sounds like we are in the same boat. So what have you been taking in? Are you able to get in all the water? I cant even come close. And my stomach and abdomen is killing me, the gas is really painful. Let me know if you have any tips.........I need all the help I can get
