You said it!
You're scared, but READY and being ready is what it takes.
Be ready to change. Be ready to walk. Be ready to thrive!
This surgery recovery seems to be based a LOT on your attitude going in, so work on it, find that peace, and stay ready!
You'll be with us on the other side in no time and feeling fine!
Good luck, Sweet heart.

Congrats, Charlotte, that's great! I'm down 24 lbs total, 9 of that since surgery, so you're ahead of me!
I'm sorry I missed you at the clinic yesterday. After getting the staples out (OUCH!), I was just wanting to get home as fast as possible. If I would've felt better, I would've waited for you.
I'm so happy that we're doing so well!

Topic: RE: I almost backed out!
I had my surgery on Feb 5, 2007. I came home on Feb 9. I can relate with the ride home
and the pain. It was 1 1/2 hr. ride home and was very painful. But as the days go by I feel much less pain. It is like every day gets better and better. I found the sponges with water were my most comfort for my dry mouth, it got sooo dry my tounge would want to stick to the roof of my mouth. If I had to do it all over I would, pain or more pain, I feel the end result is worth it.

I'm so sorry that you are in so much pain BUT glad that you are home . Don't worry the pain will go away in time..I know the pain sucks. I had my surgery on FEB 8 th and come home on the 10th . We have a SUV so I know just how you felt about your ride home. Just remember to walk when you can makes the pain go away faster. that is all I did in the hosptial I'm feeling alot better, have not taken any pain medicine since the Sat I came home and I'm already 17 lbs down.
But like I said that pain will pass quickly. Best wishes to you on a fast and painless revocery
Stephanie.

Also, for the record, I've lost 12 pounds in the week since the surgery.
I weighed 352 before the pre-surgery diet, weighed 330 the day of surgery, and now weigh 318 today, 9 days later.

Topic: I almost backed out!
Had the pill not kicked in when it did I would have backed out of the surgery. I cried and cried through the entire pre-op stuff. Right now, I'm in pain. Way more pain then having a c-section. I came home yesterday but the ride home was a nightmare. With every bump I felt like my insides would split open. I had the surgery Monday but still have not eaten anything. I had the worst dry mouth ever. Do yourself a favor and bring a small squirt bottle to the hospital with you. Taking a sip of water may not be what you want but to spray your mouth wet is wonderful. Would I do it again - nope. Way more pain then I care to endure ever again!!!
Topic: RE: Surgery Feb. 13th
My thoughts are with you and hope everything works out ok for you. I got banded last Friday so if you need some tips let me know.
Stay strong you can do this.
