Topic: Liquid Diet????
Hey all, I have to say that reading all of your questions and answers and hearing your support makes me truly thrilled to be a part of this wonderful group. On to my question. My Doctor requires a two week liquid protein diet. Has anyone else had to do this? I see a lot of you have had to do what looks to be a cleanse and I don't have to do that. Any thoughts on how to make these two weeks go by faster. My surgery is the 28th, please keep your fingers crossed and keep me in your prayers. I was also thinking about the pain meds.....I am alergic to morphine and codiene what will they give me in my drip afterwards? Have any of you had your surgery at Chapman? I know tons and tons of questions...But I am really really getting nervous...

Congratulations also! Well, for starters my constipation started before my surgery, so while in the hospital I had 3 suppositories, 1 enama, 2 doses of milk of magnesa and one stool softener! BUT, they told me if I didn't have a BM at least every two days I could take sugar free milk of magnesa. I purchased a generic brand of it at Walgreens. Thank God I have been OK with it. You should contact your doctor and I am sure they will suggest the same. Remember to drink at least 64 oz. of water a day. I know that is what is keeping me regular. Good luck and keep in touch.

We'll what can i say.I had my surgery on Tuesday Feb 6th.I was doing pretty god in the recovery unit unti'll,some genius Dr. told the nurses to take me of the IV fluids.Needless to say i got super dehydrated.MY temp and heart rate went into the clouds.I had a very bad case of nausea with some vomitting. Thanks to our God, i got passed all of that.I WAS SCHEDULED TO BE HOME on Thursday, instead i got home on Saturday.I'm doing much better now. It's been a routh road but its all gonna be worth it.

CONGRADULATIONS I'm 7 days out and I go to my family PH in 2 days to find out what all I can quit taking. Although right now my surgeon onlytold me to take my synthroid and my hormone medicine. I had to start taking my headache medicines too because I've had three bad headaches while in the hospital. They wouldn't listen to me. So when I got home I took care of it myself. Anyway didn't mean to go on about me. WAY TO GO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK Charlotte
