Topic: It's been a long time....
Hey folks!! Haven't posted in a while, and thought I better check in to see how everyone is doing. For me, I am at 140 lbs, with a total loss of 206 lbs. I have been holding at around 140 for almost 2 months now, and the vomiting has completely stopped. I actually bought size 7/8 pants this weekend. It was glorious...now, if I could get my plastics done... Seem to have more energry than before, and feel pretty good most of the time. I have developed an aversion to sleep, as of late, and that is beginning to get to me. Insomnia is the pits!!

Thanks! I am not really worried about the pain, as I have a freakishly high pain tolerance, just the possible injury to myself if I overdo it.... They are keeping me overnight instead of doing it as an outpatient surgery, jsut my surgeons preference (I have heard of several others going home the same day). I am sort of hapy about staying...maybe I can get a nap in! LOL Thanks again!!

Hi! I had my Gallbladder out about 3 months before WLS and it was a breeze! Day Surgery ... I went in at 8am & was home at 3pm. I was out for 2 weeks from work, but wanted to go back about 1 week after surgery. My tummy was sore like the WLS (looking back) but not as much pain. I waited 2 weeks to lift anything over 10# (milked that one for like 3-4 weeks HA HA). I would say 2 weeks should be about right - I was feeling pretty good by then. Best wishes for a fast recovery! Topic: RE: who is at goal?
My dr. goal was 150 and mine was 145. I'm weighing 142 -- yeh!!! and wearing mostly 10's and a couple of 8's. I never in my wildest imagination thought I would be this size ~~ and I'm loving every minute of it. My b/f picked me up and threw me over this shoulder this weekend while we were out playing in the yard with the dog. Talk about a WOW moment. I'll never forget it. Janie 272/142

If you don't have to lift them, you should feel ok enough to handle the household (minus the laundry lifting and vacuuming) within a few days to a week.

Hello! Long time, no post...slap me! LOL Just a little note and a question.... I had some issues last week which lead to a buttload of testing...Lo and behold, I have gallstones and am having my gallbladder removed next week. Anyone here have this done? I want to know what to expect, and how long the recovery period was for you....My mother is coming down to help out with the kids, and I need to know how long (approx) so that I can make her flight arrangements.... Congrats for all of your successes!!! Janice

Hello Peg, And welcome back. You certainly have had one of the most difficult time of all of us and I'm so glad that you are feeling well and no longer will have to worry about stomach cancer. Keep in touch with us. I am so glad that doors are opening for you and that you are able to play with your grandchildren, etc. Thank you for your very good advice. Each day is all that we have. Ruth

Topic: RE: Hypoglycemia
I'm also suffer from frequent episodes of Hypoglycemia and I have low blood pressure. I'm eating about every 2.5 hours to avoid the low blood sugar. I find some foods seem to stave off the episodes longer than others, and one that works for me is peanut butter in the morning. I usually eat a snack of cheese and crackers before bed to avoid nocturnal episodes. I'm sorry so many of us experience this, but I'm relieved I'm not alone!
