Hi Dianne,
Good job on continuing to lose!
I'm on the maintain-train myself. I'm back down to 190 after a brief stint at 196. I'd like to report that I'm incredibly well behaved, but that would be a big lie. I'm getting myself together, and working on self-forgiveness.
It's been really stressful lately. My partner and I have moved in together and it's quite the adjustment. We're going to get there. . .but until then its been a bit bumpy. I'm thinking it's a bit too much quantity time and no where near enough quality time.
My best friend was in town and that made me really happy.
I haven't heard from my insurance about Mayo clinic or plastics approval yet.
Hugs for you awesome lady,
~Lara

Hi everyone! Remember me? I haven't been online here in months. I've missed "talking" to y'all! I think I stayed on track better when I had some accountability.
Anyway, My computer crashed in March and OH lost 1/2 my profile and then I became very anemic and had no energy so I just lost touch. My B-12 AND iron were very low and I didn't even go to the gym for about 2 months.
Back on track now. All supplemented up and back at the gym. However, I haven't lost any weight since February. I'm at 190 and holding. It's my own fault. I discovered that I don't really dump on sweets (my weakness) so I've been struggling with willpower. Now that I'm working out again though I'm finding a little more motivation. I bought myself a decent bicycle and have been going on 10 miles rides with my family. What fun. I never could've done that before! My family is loving it!
I'm still sooooo grateful for this surgery! I've certainly learned a lot throughout this past year or so. Like - we no longer have the luxury of ignoring our bodies. We can not afford to stop paying attention to our nutrition. Being grown up isn't always easy, is it?
Anyway, I'm reading all of your profiles and catching up then I'll update mine.
It's good to be back!

Hello Ma'am! Remember me?? LOL
I have been around...maintaining for lack of a better word. I am now at 152, and have been here for a few. I have not been making good food choices, but not outrageously bad ones either. FitDay has gone out the door...siiighh....need to get back on that. Since my MD allowed me to do the carb thing, I have slowed waaaaaayyyyy down, BUT I am no longer feeling the dizzy spells like I was before...hmmm..can you say blood sugar issues? LOL
I am glad you are still doing so well! How are you adjusting to Louisville? We just had a boatload of family (inlaws + 4 neices + great grandma) visit us from Hannibal, MO for the past 2 weeks. I have been so busy, that I haven't even had a chance to check the boards, much less respond to anything.
My FIL kept calling me "Slim" the whole time they were here. My MIL, tho, did not make ONE comment about my weight. I am not a size 8, while she is a 14. I have always been her fat DIL, now I am not. I think it bothers her a bit that I am now smaller than her. Oh well, I did this for ME, not anyone else..MEMEMEMEMEME!
SIiigh...I got off on a tangent..surprised? LOL It is good to see everyone again...Congrats on your successes!
Janice (off to eat chicken, cheese, hot sauce..YES..I am still addicted to it! )

Hello,
I am doing good. I lost 6 pounds in June and I'm down to 150. I've been doing water aerobics which is a lot of fun. The first real exercise I've done on a regular basis. Work is going well, I'm feeling kind of settled in Louisville. My friend from St. Louis came to visit over the 4th. That was fun. What's going on with everyone else?

Praying is something I do pretty well. I'd be happy to. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Topic: RE: annoying dry lips
When I asked my Dr. about this same thing he said it was most likely 1 of 2 things with me .... Dehydration or Protein Defiency (did I spell that right?) So he told me once again to make sure I was getting at least 60 - 80g of protien & at least 60 oz of water ... since then they have gotten better.
I also started using some Mary Kay lip balm & Clinique "Super Gloss" ... so those could have helped too. I used to sell MK & still get the discounts if you are wanting to try some I can get it at cost - just let me know ...
GOOD LUCK with this - it is SO annoying!

Olivia,
Last week I had some really bad dry lips, I bought a few different kinds of "stuff" to help, nothing seemed to work.. and then I looked up dry lips, and it can be a symptom of dehydration & anemia! Dehydration is obvious, but anemia?
Drink up.

Olivia,
My lips get very dry if I do not drink enough water. Did you try good old fashion olive oil. Don't laugh my brother uses on his feet and it really softens them up.

Topic: annoying dry lips
Does anyone know why I have the most annoying dry lips? They have been very dry and peeling since winter. I thought it was the weather, but it's 90 degrees now and I can't use that! I have tried every mix, potion and cure from Rite Aid to Saks Fifth Avenue. I've never had this problem before and I don't know if it's from something from the surgery or just environmental. Thanx for any input!
