Dianne, They've all said it well - my flex is about 5-15 lbs. I can lose/gain 2 lbs in a manner of hours if I'm being a butthead and tracking my weight like an obessessed teenager. I'm celebrating that I'm back down to 191-193 from getting all the way back to 199 (my lowest seen weight is 186) and FTR I STILL consider myself as maintaining - even with this minor fluctuation - because my clothing all fits the same (it was getting a bit snug on the higher end, and gets a bit loose on the lower end). Don't torture yourself - but rather acknowledge your mistakes and/or poor choices and move on. You're doing GREAT! ~Lara

Hello Dianne, You are doing fabulous so don't beat yourself up over 2lbs. I fluctuate more than that on any given day. I know exactly what you mean about the saggy breasts. I look forward to having a reduction. This hanging skin is darn near as bad on the back as the excess weight was. My back has a harder time dealing with the pulling on it now than before. I am still between 164-168lbs so I still have another 15-20lbs to go before I consider my tummy tuck. I want as much off as possible before I do it. You keep up the good work! Donna

Dianne- I can pee two pounds. No, really, don't stress. Give yourself a 5 lb. window... less stress that way. I know many folks give themselves a bigger window, 5-15 lbs flex... FTR - I gained NINE! Good luck with your consult! Beth http://meltingmama.blogspot.com

Topic: My health update
Hi everyone. I think this is going to be my last entry for awhile because I have some serious health issues going on. When I saw my gastroenterologist last Tuesday, May 31st, she recommended that I have the rest of my stomach, all 1/10 of it, removed. That would leave me with NO stomach, but rather a small pouch made from two loops in my small intestines. I am getting second and third opinions this week...one from an oncologist my doctor recommended, and one from a surgeon at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. I go there on Friday. If there are no new procedures to alleviate the risk of this condition I have turning cancerous again, then I will opt for the surgery. It will mean a whole new way of doing things....many health issues to deal with, but hopefully, no more risk of cancer unless there are some cancer cells that are lying dormant somewhere. If I have this surgery, I will for sure lose weight because there just will not be enough room to hold much food, and it really won't absorb as well because there will be no stomach acid to break down the food. I will have to rely on the small intestines to do the work, but at least I will be alive! So, that being said, I am going to move ahead and get on with my life. I wish all of you well, and I hope and pray that you will all be successful with your weight loss and maintenance. Take care, and God bless us all. Peg

Topic: Japanese food tonight!!!
My 15 year old daughter is off in Rome for 11 days and I wanted to treat my 17 year old son to a special dinner for doing my wound care for 2 weeks. so my husband and I took him to the japanese place in our town, the kind where they cook all your food right in front of you and its fun to watch. of course there is no way I could eat a whole meal so I asked if I could order off the childrens menu, she said yes! I had teriaki (sp) chicken and some shrimp, they make it a little at a time and you eat as he prepares it. OMG, my chicken was so tender and yummie, I even brought home about half my meal. we had a fun night out and hubby and my son ate huge meals and we all had a great time. with chinese food I have to be very careful of the sugar content, I felt great during, after and still do 2 hours later, Donna

my personal favorite is grapes w/ cheddar cheese... 1 grape w/ tiny piece of cheese all in 1 bite. Mmmmmmmmmm carb countown ice cream sandwich or ice cream bar (these are great!) cucumbers w/ crumbled feta cheese and pepper celery w/ peanut butter and a few raisins on top (learned this from the girl scouts... who knew they had snacks besides their cookies!?) that's all i can think of right now, i too seem to pick the same snacks and eat them till i'm bored.... never get bored w/ grapes n cheese tho! congrats you've done great! ~Kim

Other thoughts.... nuts/seeds, healthy trail mix watermelon strawberries with a little whip cream unsweetened applesauce with cottage cheese (add splenda, chopped walnuts and cinnamon for a decadent tasting dessert!) yogurt (with or without granola) Good for you on the weight loss! Way to go! Aylene
