Angels
Angels for WLS...sort of mentor you...visit you and "take you under their wings"...They are post ops usually....I have done it 2 times...lately...but I had staples 23 years ago and will be having a revision...I usually take a small gift...a book, a little music box...something happy to them in the hospital...then a little bag with a sippy cup (3 for a dollar at the Dollar Tree) and a couple of different flavors of Crystal Lite....I just take them one little cup of a couple of flavors not a whole canister...) and I do little things...for them....The two I had so far were from out of town and stayed at a Motel for a week after surgery until their first Dr.s appointment....Both Tina and Leslie were really fun to work with and I would not take anything for the experience....
Usually someone that lives close to you that has had the surgery will volunteer to be your angel....if not...ask some one...just post on this board and someone will gladly take the job....
This is one way of giving back the love and support that we have been so freely given....
Although I did not ask the quesion about the Angels, I also wanted to know what this was. Thanks for posting the answer. I actaully work at NorthEast Hospital and would love to be an Angel for someone. I am hoping to have WLS in Sept. so I would probably need some mentoring help being a mentor! At least for the first time. Thanks again for your post. Bless you! Teresa ;o)
