...that's going to be me if my hair doesn't stop falling out!!! It is coming out by the pound I swear (OK, not really - but its coming out alot) I am on a prescription prenatal vitamin (daily), had my B-12 shot, am getting 80-90g/day of protein religiously - not helping!! Has anyone else's started coming out? They said 3-6 months and I am only 7 weeks, I'm scared to see what happens at 3 months!! I also tried Nioxin for 3 weeks before surgery (preemptive strike) and 4 weeks after, but it still started coming out so I just switched back to a shampoo that I like. I also switched from washing my hair everyday to every other day, I guess this is helping but I would love to hear from some of you.

My doc has me taking zinc for that, it's supposed to help. I don't know if it would help now but would be worth a shot.

I've heard some talk on other forums about biotin or biosil...I checked out biosil online...you add drops to water but I heard it tastes a bit nasty (although if you're losing hair in clumps you'll do it). Good luck! I myself have noticed thinning around my hairline but nothing that big yet (gulp).

I started taking Biotin and Selenium (sp?) about 3 months before surgery. I haven't experienced a big chunk of hair loss yet, but am ready for it. I also heard that if you get lots of protien in, that will help as well. I am trying to get in 80 - 100 grams a day. The operative word it TRYING though....

Yep. It's called, "building your own cat".( WLS humor is so crude... yet amusing. ) From what I've read it's fairly common- and temporary. I heard protein is the key to whooping it, but it sounds like other things come into play also. What a strange trip this WLS journey can be. DD

I also heard that anytime your put to sleep it will cause your hair to come out. So some of it might not be protein related. Just a thought.
