New to this group
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jen and I had surgery on April 24, 2007. I am involved in a couple of other bypass forums and someone suggested this one. I have spent some time looking it over and I am very excited to be a part of it. I had the open RXY surgery and except for the normal incision pain/discomfort and some eating issues early on (sugar is BAD :uhoh: ) things are going really well now.
Like I said I am new and just wanted to introduce myself.
Thanks,
Jen
Jen,
Welcome to the A team Amigos!. This is the best, most supportive bunch on the board. (I'm not prejudiced am I?)
We are surgery sisters. How has your journey gone? Have things evened out or still bumpy at times?
We also have accountibility weight loss check in's on Sunday, so make sure you come back and join us.
Glad to have you...
Thank you all so much for your wonderful welcome!! I had some real problems with water of all things around 3 weeks after my surgery. I would get very bloated and nausous whenever I would drink plain water. I messed up  and started avoiding it so I wouldn't feel sick. Well then I just ended up in the ER with dehydration. After an afternoon of IV fluids I learned to live with it until it finally got better. I still have to make sure I have waited at least an hour before I drink anything but at least now I don't have any problems with the water.
The only other issue I had was my anti-anxiety meds. They made me really sick so we are trying to find a new one that works AND doesn't make me sick.
Overall I am very happy. My surgery weight was 265 and I am down about 60lbs and around 55 inches. I have gone from a size 22 to currently a 16 (they are starting to sag too though so I think it's time to go down another size).

Welcome to our A-Team Jen!! This is a wonderful group of people and we're all right in this together having had surgery in the same month. I had my surgery the day before you. I've lost 78 pounds so far. I started at 444 and am down to 366. My goal is 180 and I'm 6 foot tall. Glad you're here!
