Hey. I am wondering if you guys are exercising regularly. I am not. I am getting ready to start. Last week i did Tae Bo about 3 days. I seem to be at a stand still. I am drinking plenty of water. I am able to eat more than I think I should, but I still eat very little. Everyone seems to be losing large amounts. What is your secret? Please help! I am not complaining, but I am getting married on April 6th and I need some advice. I have only lost 45 lbs. since April. Why am I losing and gaining and losing again ???

Hi, I wasn't exercising much for the first few months, but a few weeks ago I realized that the "free ride" was over and I absolutely had to get moving. I've been alternating swimming with treadmill and the elliptical trainer 5 days a week. Finally my scale started to move again. Phew-I was starting to panic, thinking I was done losing! Are you getting enough restriction? Is it possible that you need a fill?

I work out nearly everyday... but I try to alternate the intensity of it. One day I will run a mile or so on the treadmill and then do some ab workouts.. the next I might do a workout video and some weight training. I have a bike, treadmill, and a ball, weights, and a ton of videos at my local library.. I've had these for years.. just finally using them now! It's A LOT easier now that a great deal of my weight is gone. I'm still only loosing 5 lbs a month or so.. but I keep pressing on. I know my issue is that I don't get enought protein or calories. And when I get enough cals and protein I don't get enough water.. I can't seem to do all three!! Very hard balancing act for me... can't figure it out.. but I'll keep trying! With working out.. start slow!! I mean.. make it fun.. or you will never do it. I started just riding my bike while watching TV or a movie. Then I would up the resistance a bit.. and before you know it I was sweating during my workouts.. and then after a few weeks I concentrated on my heartbeat and keeping it in range.. etc. I have always hated working out.. but now I really enjoy it. It's something I do to invest in myself. Hope that helps. -Shakeira

I wish i could tell you that im exercising regularly....but im not! I really need to get my butt in gear though because the weight is not "sliding" off like it was in the beginning. Its time i kick it up a notch and start moving more! Im ashamed at how lazy i have been and i realize i need to put some effort into this if i want to reach goal. Im going to dedicate myself to working out more, even if its going for a walk each night. Ive GOT to do something! As far as your concern with your weightloss goes, i think you're doing great! You cannot compare your lap band surgery to those who have had the bypass. A girlfriend of mine had lap band and she tries to compare her weightloss with mine all the time and it breaks my heart to see her get discouraged. She and I both considered our options when we were deciding on which surgery to get and we both knew if we had lap band the results would take longer to reach our goal. I wanted the lap band but my insurance would not cover it, she was self pay no matter which surgery she chose, so she went with the more affordable surgery. There are benefits to losing it more slowly....she doesnt have near the saggy skin i have, and while she is wishing she had gastric bypass, i am wishing i had lap band! lol...funny how we always think the grass is greener, huh? Anyway, she recently went in for a fill and she is losing again. Have you considered that? Is it time for a fill? Im not really sure how that all works but i know she got one and has begun losing again. Either way, i think you're doing great Maritza

Maritza, I understand where you are. I also had lap band and I am kind of at a stand still. I understand too that I need to start working out more regular. I think you are in the same boat as many people here. Just hang in there and this is the place to be for your support.
