I guess they will have to asperiate out the excess fluid with the needle but seems the other tube is taking over the job of the lost tube somewhat not a whole lot but maybe my body will absorb and flu**** out on it's own with out them having to use a needle, Time will tell, I am feeling much better today I am putting a few lbs on grrrrrrrrrrrrrr but this is a temp set back could be a whole lot worse. I am glad to feel better finally this was starting to really depress me alot. I just wish I had my energy back now I know how Dee felt no energy. I have to force my self to do things even tho I am uncomfortiable moving and standing for long periods of time

Topic: Checking in...
Hi All - Just wanted to check in and say hi in the new year. At 20 months out, I'm holding strong between 180-185. On my 5'9 frame I think it looks ok. My BMI is just above normal (like 26 point something I think...) I'm in mostly size 8/10 and medium. Some would say that's not good enough, but it exceeds the expectations I had before I had the surgery. I still keep my goal at 160 although that may not be possible without plastics, which I do not intend to have. My skin issues are minimal. Not at all noticeable in clothing. Basically, I'm very happy with my choice to have surgery. I have my bad eating days but try to balance with good days and running, which seems to be working. I don't really stress about food or the scale. I consider myself a normal person and most people would never guess that I had RNY, which is the way I want it. I do have a drink now and then and am just careful because it does affect me much differently than everyone else. I will be running a 15K in March and a half marathon in April. I don't think I want to run a full marathon anymore. I just can't get motivated to do that. My interest seems to die out at mile 13... I am dating. Quite a bit. Some I tell about the surgery, some I don't. I wait for it to come up in the natural flow of conversation. Doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone yet. Well, anyway, that's about it for me. I hope everyone is doing well or getting back on track or whatever is necessary to be feeling good! Happy New Year!!

Oh Lisa I'm so glad to hear you are doing better and didn't have to undergo another surgery. However, I am sorry for the set-back this has caused you. I hope now that the tube is out you get to feeling better soon. Will your body just absorb all that excess fluid? Maybe that's why you've been so swollen. Anyway, glad you're home!

I got a call from Lisa last night. She was in the ER awaiting the surgeon. Apparently, one of her drain tubes split inside of her. She didn't know if she needed surgery again. I didn't hear back from her but I called her today and there was no answer. I am assuming she had to have surgery, Let's send out our prayers for her. I will keep you informed as soon as I hear something.
I hope we all have a very happy, HEALTHY, thin New Year.

Shar

Happy New Year A Team! I really do not have any resolutions. I guess I need some self improvement.
1. Work on dealing with stress and disapointment. I need better tools for this-I still internalize things alot until they come out of me physically.
2. Be nicer to my husband. When I am stressed-I tend to take it out on him (or so he says!).
3. Stay organized. I tend to let things go and then come on like a storm to get things back in order. It would be easier to just keep them organized to begin with.
4. Be kinder to myself. If things go wrong-I take it on myself. I always immediately think it is something wrong with me instead of maybe it is something else.
5. Accept how things are. Losing weight did not fix everything in my life. It fixed my weight. It gave me freedom from my 'fatsuit'. It has improved my health. Those are all plus's.
As you can see, this journey is far from over. I still struggle. I still make mistakes. I still have doubts. BUT, I just keep on, keeping on....
