Marcia my son has a fatty liver and his liver enzymes were threw the roof and they send us to ucla to have him evaluated and they said being he is morbid obese it will take time to reverese the effects of the fatty liver and they said eating a low fat diet and weight loss will reduce the fatty liver but for them they were worried about the liver panal not the fack his liver was fat. his numbers have improved over time but they are still very eleveted. they did say no drinking alcohol or coffee and watch tylenol consumption and drink lots of water will help but just losing weight will help the liver to function better, they said they only worry about liver enzymes if it triples they told me . His only went 2 1/2 times Lisa

Thanks Shar I am really trying to hang in there, It just consumes your every day thoughs I really am watching my diet closely all I can do is be patient, I mean 2 weeks ago I was 214 so I cannot possibly expect 14 more lbs to just fall off like that next week. Grant you probally had 10 in water weight but a loss is a loss. I did up the protien to 100 grams so I think that is why the scale is picking up speed. woundn't that be nice to get a speeding ticket for losing weight to fast LOL oh well maybe tommrrow or maybe sunday weight in. Marcia, sorry to hear about this. It makes sense though. As we lost weight, we forced our livers to do some heavy duty processing of everything. I know when my blood tests came back at my one year appt that my liver enzymes were elevated. Not enough to freak out but not normal either. MY Dr just plans on waiting to see how things work out since he felt that alot was related to flushing so much fat thru my system in a relatively short amount of time. Best of luck!

This morning I AM 201.4 Yestersay 200.8 the up down up down is driving me crazy.. I got down to 204 and then had my shoulder shurgery and sky rocketed to 214 and went up down and after 3 mos of the battle the scale moved pass 204 So 2011 is looking realistic to be 199 LOL UGHi!! I am sooooooooooo frustrated I bet that bench is really shinny with your hinney but we don't want it to slicky I would hate to accidently Slip back the 200 bench. I am gonna apply super glue when I get there .Then the next step is staying put I think i will relax a bit when I reach 195. One day this is gonna make a good weight loss story tell then one day I am gonna remember this and the foot knawing getting to 199 Opps better stop eating my foot has to many calories Lisa

Anybody here been diagnosed with a fatty liver? I have. You can get one if you have diabetes and high cholesterol, but I no longer have those. I understand from Googling it that you can also get it if you've lost a lot of weight relatively quickly (like developing gallstones, the only difference being that I NEED my liver). This is one result of WLS my Bariatric Center didn't tell me about, but according to the Google sources it has been associated with WLS. I have an e-mail in to my Bariatric Center asking them questions about it, but I was curious. I also want to know what your doctor had you do to fix it, and how dangerous it might be. I've lost over 90 pounds and my mother has started calling me Bony (a Wow moment for sure), and I don't have that much belly fat anymore I don't think, but I have a fatty liver. Geez. Ya can't win, it seems sometimes. Thanks. Marcia

Ohhh I should use my arms to dust it off? Heck, i was just sliding back and forth on my hiney keeping it shiny for you (look, I made a little poem!) I swear to all the cupcakes on the planet that the time around 200-203 was THE. MOST. FRUSTRATING. EVER. You know how long it took me, it's a real B&*%H! just keep doing what you do and it'll come down, honest. Inky p.s. mri states I have a small full thickness tear of the rotator cuff and a bone spur that isn't helping matters at all. I see the orthopedic surgeon next thursday.
