That is great news Lisa, I am glad you went to the nutritionist. It is weird to eat more to lose more, but I agree, we need that protein to get our bodies working on losing! We ain't done yet Hugs, Inky

I was driving within 6 days of surgery. I wasn't in much pain and quit taking my pain meds just 2 days after surgery. My tummy was a little sore and I could only wear loose fitting pants because it irritated my stitches. My stomach just felt like it was badly bruised or like I did a million sit-ups...lol, but it wasn't like I was in constant pain... just tender & sore to the touch. Definitely NO LIFTING for at least 6 weeks. The soreness only lasted a couple of weeks and then I didn't even notice it unless I bumped my belly area. Hopefully all will go well for you and your recovery will be quick and relatively pain-free! Keep us posted!

Thank-you Lisa that makes me feel better knowing it was a rather quick recovery. I figured it will be alot easy getting up and moving around with all the extra weight gone now. Do you remember how long is was till you were able to drive again? Was it more than a week? I am not much for pain meds so that is not my concern, I'm wondering about being sore. Thanks

Hi everyone well yesterday I went to see the dietician and we figured I am getting 1100 calories and about 50 grams of protien and has now upped my calorie intake to 1400 and 100 grams protien and thinks I can kick in my metabolism slowly and should see some weight loss.does not want me to go below 1200 calories and only go 1200 when I do not exercise.Basically add a shake to my diet. She said that when we go to low calories your body does not want to lose weight and goes into starvation mode so now we are gonna slowly add more calories. She said alot of gastric pts do not eat enough protien to lose weight why it is so important to test for pre-albumin and protien level which I was low on both but said I should start seeing weight loss soon. I am feeling pretty good and I am no longer gaining.. seems odd to eat more to lose weight. I have more energy when I started eating more protien.I feel inspired again and when I READ EVERYONES SUCESS STORIES I feel inspired.I maybe a lap bander but losing weight is same issue no matter what and a stall is a stall and loss is a loss.Dying to be a loser LOL Lisa

A while back I had to have gall bladder and hernia surgery at the same time. It was open surgery but I healed rather quickly afterwards. I had about a 6 in*****ision which wasn't too bad. I will be praying for a quick & easy recovery for you. And like everyone else said, you'll feel so much better once your gall bladder is out and your hernia's are repaired. You'll be a new person after it's all done with!

I hope all goes well. I know I felt a lot better once my gall bladder was removed a few years ago. Be well....

I'm sorry you'll have to have open rather than laporoscopic, but believe me (experience) you'll feel so much better when you've recovered from the surgery. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Marcia
