Hello All,
Day 1 of liquids... I understand the process, and when I decided to commit to this program, I knew that my life would change... for the better! I can't lie. It's been rough. I have experienced every emotion possible in just one day. It's all worth it. I am thankful for this site. It's so encouraging and inspiring. I'm also lucky to have great friends who keep me motivated. I think it was a great idea to have a forum for people having surgery around the same time. We'll be going through similar emotions and processes at the same time. Pretty soon, we'll all be on the loser's bench together! Best wishes to you all!
Hey Ladies,
I on day 3 of 14! Day 1 and 2 were hellish. I also ran the gamut of emotions from angry - sad-depressed-grateful! I have not been super compliant - just being honest. I have been doing a very valiant job though an this is the most dedicated I have been in years. Also because of what is at stake. When you go to sleep tonight things will begin to chang win your body. I was amazed at the water weight dropped in 2 days - its encouraging. I knew abou****er weight buts its very astonishing. I do feel better having released some water.
I tried the flavored broths but they didn't work for me - they may work for you.
I also tried the 42 gram protein shot and added it to 20 ounces of vitamin water 0. That worked! On its own the protein shot is intolerable for me.
I tried the premier protein - didn't work for me though it may work for you.
Journaling here on OH helps as well as reading and commenting posts. What has been great is looking through the before and after pics on this site. They are awesome.
Best of luck and lets keep communicating since we are all in close surgery range!
I'm a homemaker in Slidell , Louisiana and I really want someone to walk with that knows what I am going through. I had my surgery April 3, 2014. I'm almost ready to go. Preferably a woman. My husband is a great guy but, I feel more
comfortable with a woman.
thank you for reading:)
reply if you are interested In a walking buddy. I'm reliable but, you have to be reliable, also.
I found it helpful to get in a routine of having my shakes at specific times. That way, when I was hungry, I could tell myself I only had to get through the hunger until such and such a time.
Drinking flavoured water helped.
Watching a movie on my iPad helped.
The biggest thing that has kept me going (my surgery is April 16) is the fear that if I don't stick exactly to the plan, the surgeon might not do the surgery. I want to have no regrets about following the plan.
I found it really hard, but doable because of what is at stake.
Best of luck!
I didn't realize how emotional this would be. I have had my protein shake, water & broth. Any suggestions how to stay diligent for the next two weeks! Uh
