Hey Hero!!!
That is awesome!!
My daughter, Carrie is my hero! She had the surgery 6 months before me...and is down to size 4/6. She looks awesome, feels awesome and her whole personality and outlook on life has changed. She was so negative...now...totally positive. Went back to school, graduated with a 97 % overall grade point average...loves life, and is too much fun to be around!!
Way to go!!

Topic: RE: Short people and weight loss
Hi Tootsie,I'm 5'1 and have lost almost 170 lbs and my surgery was also May 11th... I have been pretty much stuck since Christmas .I have lost a few lbs but not much.I have not been getting all the protein ....I was doing better for awhile then I went down hill . I have started excercising now that the weather has gotten nice.I bought a bike....after 26 yrs.My goal is 135 and I'm stuck at 193 and feel like thats all I'm gonna loose. I used to work 3rd shift and homeschool my son, but in November I had to quit my job ....I was making myself crazy trying to do both .I didn't do anything special...in fact I really haven't excercised until now.I'm hoping that will help....Do you count your calories? If so how many do you get in a day? I have often wondered how everyone could diet so differantly and still loose so much.I think the docs are all so differant in what they tell us to eat. For example my doc did not want me to eat anything but proein for the first six months then you could add some veggies and then after a year some fruit.I haven't been very good at following his rules on that but I'm trying. I don't know how helpfull I've been but you are not alone, just know that.
God Bless You,
Angi

Topic: Shes says I'm a HERO!!!!!
Hey folks,
I am beaming tonight. My daughter was given an assignment for the weekend to write a paper on someone that has done something WONDERFUL or meaningful. Guess what? She picked ME!!! I ask why she picked me and she said, "Momma, you are my HERO!" You had your surgery and you try hard everyday to be better and well.....I am so proud of you." Needless to say, she brought me to tears. She says that I have accomplished more than anyone she knows. She is 11. She has been my biggest supporter. She even goes to Support Group with me. I love that girl with all my heart. Just had to share my "HERO" status with y'all. Thanks for being here and listening.
Hugs to all from a HERO!!! teeheehee

Topic: LOST THREE POUNDS!!!
Oh yeah....finally, the impossible happened!!
I lost three pounds!!! Just like that.
I have been walking...so I think all that walking finally caught up!!
I really believe the fitday.com has helped too. I have cut my
calories by at least a third, if not more!!
And, yes, if you can't tell...I am too proud of myself!!
You, know...when you start losing again, you star****ching
what you are eating more. Why is that???
Bye!!!

Topic: RE: What cold meds are you able to take...
Hey Cassie -
I was told that any cold medicine with tylenol was ok. Just make sure it doesn't have Ibuprofin and it's cool with my doctor. I had a couple of colds, the old Nyquil worked great - both the night and day kinds.

I'm 5'1" and went from 257 to 131. I've been retired since six weeks after the surgery which means I have enough time to exercise. I've always been a swimmer and, as a NYer I don't own a car so I do a lot of walking naturally. The weight just kept falling off; I'm not sure how and March-April it stabilized. I actually had to cut out some exercise because I couldn't take in enough calories. I eat reasonably sensibly, drink a lot of water and sf lemmonade and take in lot of sf jello. I'm very diligient about the vitamins and sleep, but I honestly can't give you a reason why it went so well. I swim 1/2 mile at the local Y four or so times a week and do the normal walking that presents itself in my life. My one year anniversary is May 17th. I wish that I could be more helpful, but our bodies are each unique. Good luck.
