Topic: Your thoughts?
Reposting from the main board... Hey all, Okay, I've read through the library on this and didn't find much. For the last 24 hours I've had a strong dull pain in my left side, a couple of inches down from my ribs about about 4in left of my bellybutton. It feels like someone punched me, hard, in the side of my gut. I did several things yesterday that may (or may not) have led to several different issues. First, I took a fall while walking, tripping over a wire and doing a belly flop into the gravel (it was lovely, lol) I jumped right back up and brushed myself off and seemed fine. Secondly, I was given a new pair of jeans that fit, but just barely, and wore them all day yesterday. They cut in pretty tight as I sat at my desk all day. Finally, I was stupid and kinda went wild at a wedding rehearsal dinner last night, several slices of bread and some pasta (no sweets or grease though). The pain was a dull ache from noon on and by the time I went to bed my stomach was bloated and it was painful to roll over, like a has a belly full of gas. Hurts in that spot when I cough. No sleep for me. Felt a little btter this morning but comes back each time I eat. Seems like my options are...nothing, ulcer, pulled muscle, staple line disruption, or gas. Anyone have any insights on this, or what I might do about it? I have a busy weekend and will drop everything for a trip to the doc if I really have to, but would rather not. Topic: Tummy Tuck question
Hi, my insurance is bcbs and when I went for a consult with a plastic surgeon they told me there was NO WAY that bcbs would cover a tummy tuck or panniculectomy. How dod we get them to pay for this? I do not have a rash but I would love the extra skin removed. However there is NO WAY I can afford it. How are you all doing with this? Why will they pay for it for some people but not others? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND! Melanie

Hi Natalie, Good for you! It is so important to share our "experience, strength & knowledge, & hope". It is so much better to get support from someone who's "been there, done that got the T-shirt". How many times have most of us gone to some kind of dr, support group, or whatever for our obesity and it is run by someone who is really CLUELESS because they have not "walked the walk". You will be an inspiration! Best of luck as you continue this journey. Pam RNY 5/13/04 268/157 below goal & maintaining

I have allergies pretty bad and something bloomed in the previous 24 hours. My reaction when I go outside is I get a bunch of draining all at once in the back of my throat which makes me gag and vomit. So dinner last night didn't last long. I started back on Allegra-D now. You would have thought years of doing this would have me talking it every year starting around mid-March ... but Noooooooo.... I have re-learn the lesson every friggin year. Doh!

Just my mile walk to the carpool. But, I was running late and had to run the last few blocks. LOL so it was a little more than just a stroll.

Topic: RE: Did you get movin' today?
Let's see.. I did a little over 3 miles on the treadmill and some pilates ball exercises for my abs. Oh, my car died on Saturday before Easter, so I have been walking to catch my carpool. It's just a tad over a mile. It's nice to get a quick walk in first thing in the morning.
