Ok here is what I ate today, and then I have a question
B- cheese and peanut butter crackers, 1/4 cup cottage cheese
L- protein drink
S- 2 string cheeses
D- 1 hotdog on a peice of bread with chili, 1/2 cup of mac n cheese, 5 large spoonfuls of green beans, I also added another hotdog to my mac and cheese all cut up. Bad dinner day for me
Now my question is does anyone know how much of our food we absorb if we drink afterwards? I know we are supposed to wait a half hour after we eat. Im having a problem with that now for some reason. I drink all day lots of water, but now after I eat I get real naushous lol I spelled that wrong. Anyways I feel like Im going to hurl and I fel this horrible urge to drin**** water. When I drin**** water after the feeling goes away. It has been happening for 2 days now, I dont want to not follow the rules, but I dont want to lose the little food I get in a day. NOt sure if this has to do with me being pregnant and that UTI I had or what. They said I was dehydrated at the hospital too on monday, and I just cant see how I drink all day, from protein drink to lots of water to crystal lite orange, and crystal lite tea. Any ideas from you guys? I hope I am not washing all mynutrients out from foods. I am going to talk to my surgeon and my ob tommorrow also. OH and I lost 1 lb. yeah!!!

Hi Allison! My daughter's name is Allison!! Anyway, here's what I've eaten so far:
B-Protein Shake 20 gr protein
L-Roast beef w/mashed potatoes & gravy 23 gr protein
S-not sure, going out to dinner with a friend, but it will be high in protein.
Snack-beef jerkey
Haven't gotten my water in yet today so I'm headed to the kitchen to get that right now!
I always take my vitamins in the morning.

I'm still here.. I haven't posted because I've gotten a lot of negative feedback.
I've been trying what one of the posters suggested. I'm currently on all liquids and I'm going to continue that for about a week. I've upped my exercise just a bit to 45 minutes.
I'm resisting the urge to get on the scale, because I've become WAY to addicted to it
So I'm not sure anything is actually working, but I'm hoping.
Thanks to all the posters, even the negative ones.

The idea of not drinking with meals is so you can not get around limiting your food intake. If you drink and eat, yes the pouch does empty. But the nutrition isn't the issue, the issue is that now you can eat more. So instead of eating your 6-8 oz of food you eat 14-20 oz.
The drinking with protein supplements question came up a couple of times at both my nutrition classes and support group meetings. The protein (amino acids) are abosorbed by the intestines so it doesn't matter how long it stays in the pouch as far as that goes. I usually wait to drink because I tend to feel fuller longer.

Morning All!!!!
B - Protein Shake
coffee, 3 splenda, 2tbsp of Creamer
S - Power crunch bar
L - Chicken Enchilada soup with extra chicken, strawberrys 3 and yogurt
D - Not sure
add 1 cup of sf eddy's butter pecan to last night..
and for din din last night 1 coconut shrimp,salad and a few bites of grilled chicken and brocolli from red lobster...went shopping new clothes and shoes love them..and am definately in a 14 that should be my last shopping spree at the lane bryant..yeah!!!!

I am no expert but what I understand is we are not to drink before or after as it will wash the food out of our pouch and we will feel hungry quicker. So, to answer your question I do not wait to long after drinking my protein drink before drinking water or other fluids as I feel the liquid will go through the pouch the same no matter what kind of liquid it is. Just my humble opinion.

Okay, I know a lot of you supplement your diets with protein shakes still. I do too because I can't EAT that much protein in a day!! But.........I was wondering, I know we are not supposed to drink before and after we eat so that our pouches can absorb the optimum amount of protein, but what about protein drinks? Do we have to wait to drink any liquids after those also? I know this is a stupid question, but I have been really concentrating on my protein and water to get my weight loss going again and this kind of stumped me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Did not realize how many calories I was putting into my body. Gosh...if I am putting that many in now...I can't even imagine how many I use to put into it!! Wow...just thought about that!!

i just logged onto www.fitday.com and wow!! It is fantastic!! I am not going to stop writing what I eat here...but, this tells you everything...calories, protein, carbs, ect...and all you do is add what you eat!! Wow...I am too excited!! I just entered what I ate yesterday...and man, do I know why I am on a plateau right now. It does all the work for you...and can't play with your mind....like we do!! "Awe....this isn't that bad for me!" Oh, yes it is!! Wow...I know I am using that alot...but, you will too when you visit this site. I challenge all of you, like me, who are on a plateau to go to this web site and just write down what you ate yesterday. You will totally go bonkers
and hopefully, get back on track!

I haven't been doing good the last few days. Went on a 11 hour shopping spree looking for ONE little Easter dress my buggie. That was Sunday. After that, I don't have a drop of energy. All I have wanted to do the past three days is sleep. I have giving in too. (BAD GIRL!!) I have eaten right or drank right either. I haven't hit over 500 cals. I know, get back on track tomorrow.
B nothing
L nothing
D 1\2 peanut butter sandwich
S 1 cup of Kix and 10 grapes.
One had 277 cals today. Just don't feel like eating or anything.
