Topic: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!Resolutions Anyone?
Hello May Babies and Happy New Year!
I hope '05 was as great for everyone as it was for me. I'm doing great, but still have a couple things I want to work on this year.
Resolutions
#1 Keep a cleaner house.
#2 Exercise more regularly. I bust my hump when school's out during summer and do nothing the rest of the year. Going to change that.
#3 STAY in the 140's. I keep bouncing from 146-152. Bounced as high as 160 over the summer, but back to 148 today.
I have tons of pictures and keep them very up to date if anyone hasn't seen them. I've very proud of myself and others who use this tool to it's fullest.
If you find it isn't working for you SEEK HELP!!!!!! If your surgeon isn't helping talk to your PCP and if he/she doesn't help find a new PCP that will.
Happiest of New Years to you all.

Topic: RE: Can't stop eating
I know the feeling. I have lost about 100 too. I need to get my lazy butt back exercising and eating better. I eat too many carbs, it sucks I know what I am doing wrong. Just gotta change the habits again. I am 25, I am young and can do this!! yOu can to...its a New year.........time to start out new. Just work on one thing.....like exercising more, or eating better, I think people start the New year out with too many resolutions...and they set themeselves up for failure.
Well take care and we are here for ya!!

Topic: Checking in to wish you all a Happy New Year!!!
Hi May WLS buddies! I will be updating my profile soon and submitting some new pictures. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy, healthy, safe & successful New Year!
Weight lost update: Started out = 285 lbs - As of last Saturday = 147lbs - I continue to loose each month - but this is also due to a lot of work on my part - I go to the gym everyday and have done so since Feb 05. I should get released from Dr. Bolar this month with a referral to the plastic surgeon
I'm very excited and hope to have my insurance help me out with a TT and Breast lift! I do my measurements every 3 months at the gym and the results astound me - I still see the same old me in the mirror, but the compliments just pour in...even from people who don't know I used to weigh 285 - men seem to notice the new me and a few let me know how "hot" I'm looking
Can give a girl a big head!
The support I found here was a life preserver and I'm very thankful! May God bless your families and keep you safe as we enter 2006.
Best wishes - and check out my profile in a week or so - hopefully my new pictures will be posted ;)
Hugs, Michelle

Topic: RE: My body seems to be rebelling against me
What is a bowel obstruction? is that the same as being constipated? If so - I'm doing okay in that area. I will call the surgeon's office though. Just in case.
Thanks!

Topic: RE: PARTY
Hi Maggie,
Congratulations! You go girl and LOOK MARVELOUS!!! This is so exciting and I'm very happy for you. Isn't it wonderful to be able to wear these types of clothes???!!!! I just loving trying on things "just because I can"... It may not be something I consider approriate for "me", but it is sure fun to put things on and have them look GREAT!!! Just knowing I could wear something if I wanted to is great!
Wishing you a HAPPY HEALTHY SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR

Topic: RE: My body seems to be rebelling against me
Jessica --- is it pain in the upper stomach or pouch area or more abdominal?
Don't let this slide. This sounds very much like symtoms of a Bowel Obstruction. I'm no Doctor, but, they think I may have a small one & I know of a few people who have had this. Unfortunately, according to my Doc, it is RARELY detected by MOST common tests. Sometimes it can be found with a CT scan. Are you seeing/talking to your WLS Surgeon? Don't let this continue. IF a bowel obstruction, it can get really ugly & dangerous really fast.
I don't want to scare you, but I DO think you need to really keep on top of this. Please be careful, be safe be healthy!
Wishing you the best

Topic: My body seems to be rebelling against me
I was in the hospital again this past weekend (I got out on Christmas eve afternoon) with severe stomach pains. After 36 hours and numerous tests, they sent me home not knowing what caused the pain. My dad thinks its my bodies way of rebelling against me for losing so much weight. I'm at about 165-168lbs down from 301lbs. I'm not sure what to think. I don't have my gallbladder anymore but that is what the pain felt like. Gallbladder attacks. Very painful!
I'm feeling like I don't know how to eat anymore and I haven't gotten 64oz of liquid in one day.... ever. Maybe once or twice but not more than that. I'm also not doing well on my vitamins and suppliments. I'm concerned that I'm spiriling downward and don't know how to get back up.
Please help!! Do you have any tips or advice for getting back on track?
Thanks!
Jessica

Topic: RE: 18 Months Out .. What a ride ..
Hi Natalie - I just saw your post and was intrigued, so checked out your profile. What an amazing and beatiful person you are. I am pre op scheduled for Jan 23 - 1 month away - nervous and scared and struggling to quit smoking. Reading you story was very inspirational to me, and I just wanted to thank you for your candor. I am so hopeful for a better quality of life for myself. Somewhere in life I heard the expression "If you want what I have you must do what I do". I am taking that to heart, because I really want the same things you have achieved by WLS. You are such a success! Thank you again for sharing your experiences so that I could find it and gain strength.

Same here, The two surgeons I have been to do both as well! I am having a ventra hernia repair, paniculectomy, and a hip redund on the 29th of this month.
One surgeon was going to bring in another surgeon to do the hernia repair. The next surgeon was going to do it himself. So yes it is quite common!
