Hello my fellow Mayers, I know that it has been a long time since I posted. I have missed everyone. Can anyone help me update my picture that comes up with my post? Just a few questions out of curiousity, How many calories are you taking in at 6 months out? How many carbs? How much protein? How many grams of fat? It seems as though everyone is different. I am also battling a cold any recommendation on cold medicine for us? Thanks, Andrea

Sorry I cant help you with the pictures, I am having difficulty as well. At 6 months out I can easily do 800-1200 calories, however my nuntrtitionist has me capped at 1000 I try to stay below 60 carbs 60-80 g of protien and I dont really keep track of fat.

You have to email [email protected], they are the only ones that can udate your profile picture. I'm not sure exactly how many calories I consume....it's right around 1000. I only count proteins and get about 60-90 grams / day. Sue McD

Andrea, I worry about how much I'm eating sometimes, but, I'm still losing and I exercise 1 hour a day, 6 days a week, so I guess it is right? I just ran a report from fitday and for the month of November, here is my daily average: Calories: 1380 Total Fat grams: 55 Carbs: 141 g Dietary Fiber: 30 g Protein: 91 g My six month blood work came back and looked stellar. My surgeon is very pleased. So, I don't know... Lori 384/274/170

I basically count nothing. LOL! I eat 3 meals a day and 3 protein shakes (each of 33 grams of protein). So I get 100 grams of protein at a minimum. Remember, we don't absorb all the food protein that we take in since stomach acids aren't around to break it down into amino acids. I don't eat many carbs at all. Just those that are incidental in foods and those that are in non-starchy vegies. I rarely eat bread, rice, potatoes, crackers, starchy vegies. And usually, just a bite here or there. My body is insulin resistent and if I eat a fair number of carbs my weight loss either stalls or I gain. So, I guess I know how to stop the weight loss when I get where I want to be, eh? LOL! Kathy

I haven't counted much of anything in a while and when I am counting, it is usually protein that I count. I usually try to just keep what I eat healthy so I don't worry about it. My friend who had this surgery said that her nutritionist told her that the REASON we had this surgery is to keep us from the "diet mentality" of counting calories, etc. Her nutritionist said that as long as we're eating the right foods, then don't worry about it. We will not be able to eat like we did pre-op (quantity wise) so just eat healthy, and we'll be fine. I know that I have difficulty with this, I've lived for the last 20+ years worrying about what I'm eating, calories, etc. that it's hard to get out of it. Michelle
