Felt like a princess!
Hopefully I'll have a picture to share at some point but man yesterday at my work Christmas party - I felt like a princess. I had so much more confidence walking around wearing a fitted dress. I had many folks that I hadn't seen in a while not really recognize me. It was amazing. Wow!
Everything was great except for Rich taking a spill onto the asphalt as we arrived at the hotel. He was pushing the remote to open the trunk as he walked around the front of the car and one of those ugly cement bars to prevent you from pulling into the next spot was there. He caught the edge with his foot and down he went. Didn't see it. Just heard the cussing aftermath.
He scrapped his knee and he tried to use his hand to stop the fall and his own elbow ended up jabbing himself in the ribs so his side is stiff and sore. He won't see a doctor at this point. Ahhh. Scarily, it is usually me that has these incidents happen to them. LOL! Later in the day Rich pondered that at some times he misses his fat and this was one of those times.
The party was nice. Food was excellent. I definitely hit the carving station for fresh cut turkey and tenderloin and had several shrimp. Skipped all the pastas but I heard they were great. The DJ was cheesey but nice. We didn't win any door prizes...oh well. And we had a blast playing in the casino! We use "funny" money that gets converted to raffle tickets and you can put your tickets in a cup by the prize you are trying for. I turned my $25,000 into $75,000 so I had 3 raffle tickets. Rich ended up with $100,000. We just played black jack. They had roulette, Texas hold 'em, craps, etc. Fun, fun, fun! I'm so glad they did that. We missed it last year because my back was in such crappy shape but I definitely had fun since it wasn't "real" money. LOL!
We got a nice rest at the hotel. Poor Rich couldn't sleep on his right side - his usual preference. Got up this morning and headed out for breakfast. Went to a pancake house and got this HUGE back omelette and shared it. Wow!
Now we are cleaning the house. Our new babies will be coming home with us today - Princess and Penny. Kitties we are adopting from the rescue league. I'm busy cleaning the cat bed, old litter box, cat carrier - all that was in storage.
Have fun folks!
Kathy
