Man, ever since I lost all this weight, I am freakin' freezing all the time! I used to go out in the winter in a long sleeved shirt and be fine. Now, I have a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, and leather winter coat, and I'm still cold. I wear insulated leather gloves and my hands still freeze. I'm gonna hate winter the rest of my life if this is what its gonna be like! Geez, how do thin people do this?

Me, too, Tom. All our walrus-like layers of blubber are disappearing and there's nothing left but wool, down, and leather to keep us warm! My principal is getting tired of me cranking up the heat- Becky Jean in frigid western NY

Tom, boy do I know what you mean. Before WLS I was always warm, just like my husband. Since surgery I'm cold all of the time. Drives him CRAZY! I do have to say, however, that I feel more like a thin person. They used to always be cold and I thought they were nuts. Now I'm among them! Apparently, life is just not always fair, but focus on enjoying being thin! Isn't it awesome? Have a great day! ~Wanda

The weird thing Tom is that even before I dropped a pound yet... right out of the hospital I was cold. Same for Rich. It is like in addition to losing your insulation - your body thermostat goes haywire. Rich said it gets better. He is 15 months post-op but he definitely is not the way he was prior to surgery which was sweating all the time. Kathy

I'm right there with you. I used to turn my air on in the winter just to cool my room off so that I could sleep. Now, I wear long sleeve shirt, long pants, and I run a little floor heater in addition to my regular heat at night. In fact, I just bought me my first pair of really cute long sleeve, long pant PJs(when I was big, all PJs looked like granny PJs). They were a size 12/14 I might add!!! Here's the plus side for me though. I used to go to the store and see all of these beautiful sweaters and long sleeve shirts, but I could never buy them because I knew that I would burn up in them. Now, I've told everybody that I want sweaters and long sleeve shirts for Christmas because I am freezing. I work at home most of the time now. With the rise of the price of natural gas I've resisted turning up the thermostat during the day (it's set at 59). So, my normal garb for the day is long underwear, jeans, turtleneck, sweater, fleece vest, socks, slippers, and fingerless gloves. From what I hear the newly-cold body is what we get to live with ... snort. Well, at least the summers will be more comfortable ... (I now look *forward* to hot flashes ... I know ... TMI ...) Eileen

Like everyone else, I'm right there with you Tom. I get so cold so easily now! I'm wearing wool socks, sneakers, jeans, a long sleeved t-shirt and a heavy hoodie and I'm freezing. My fingers are like ice cubes!! I also noticed this past summer that I didn't overheat as easily. It was harder to break a sweat...Isn't it amazing what weight loss does? Becky

Yep, know how you feel. I'm sitting here at my desk with a space heater blowing on me. Everyone else thinks it's pretty warm in here but not me! At least it keeps people our of my office!
